2027 marks the 75th anniversary of Rye Sea and Royal Marines Cadets in the town.

We have a few ideas on how to celebrate this with some events across the year.

But we are definitely open to any new ideas.

Mayor making in Rye today with the appointment of 2 new Mayors cadets. Well done to Cadet 1St Class Edward and Able Junior cadet Oscar, you both did yourselves and the unit proud today. Thank you Rye Town Council for your continued support.

Some very good advice

Our inland waterways are popular places, especially as the weather warms up, so it’s important to feel confident and know what to do if you find someone in difficulty in the water.

If you see someone in trouble, remember Phone Float Throw:

- Phone 999 to get help 📞
- Tell them to stay calm and float on their back 🗣️
- Throw something that floats to help until emergency services arrive 🫧

Wonderful day celebrating the incoming Mayor in the town of Winchelsea. MC Jack was also invested as the new Mayors cadet for 2026. Well done MC Jack, you did yourself and the unit proud today! I spoke to both the Lord Lt and Lord Warden who only had good things to say about how you conducted yourself during the whole ceremony.
