⚓ Sussex Sea Cadets at the Lord Warden’s Speakers’ Day⚓

It was a privilege to see Sussex Sea Cadets represented at the Lord Warden’s Speakers’ Day in Winchelsea.

Representing the District were:

🎖️ Lord Warden Cadet – Able Cadet Amber, Sea Cadets Hastings
🎖️ Winchelsea Mayor’s Cadet - Cadet Charlie, Rye Sea and Royal Marines Cadets

Both cadets represented their units and Sussex District with great professionalism, confidence and pride, taking part in this prestigious civic occasion.

We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the manner in which they continue to represent the Sea Cadet Corps at significant ceremonial and community events.

👏 Well done to both cadets — you were a credit to yourselves, your units and Sussex District.

A big thank you to all the volunteers at TS Rye, be that the instructional team or the management team, without their hard work and dedication there simply wouldn’t be a T.S. Rye

Some very good advice

Our inland waterways are popular places, especially as the weather warms up, so it’s important to feel confident and know what to do if you find someone in difficulty in the water.

If you see someone in trouble, remember Phone Float Throw:

- Phone 999 to get help 📞
- Tell them to stay calm and float on their back 🗣️
- Throw something that floats to help until emergency services arrive 🫧

Wonderful day celebrating the incoming Mayor in the town of Winchelsea. MC Jack was also invested as the new Mayors cadet for 2026. Well done MC Jack, you did yourself and the unit proud today! I spoke to both the Lord Lt and Lord Warden who only had good things to say about how you conducted yourself during the whole ceremony.
