On Monday evenings, our experienced sailors (RYA YSS Level 2+) and windsurfers (RYA YWS Level 1+) attend Sea Cadets Thrapston Boat Station for Sail Race Training and Windsurf Club. They join other Cadets from across the District to develop their skills and build friendships and have a whole lot of fun. ⛵️

Friday saw our Senior Cadets practicing basic drill, learning about map reading and navigation, and completing leadership tasks. Great teamwork and focus on display all round! 🧭✨

On Friday our Juniors were learning about Anti-bullying and completed the 'Ten Keys' to happier living 🟡Yellow module.

On Friday night we had Divisions.

✨ Farewell to OC Ezra: We marked Ezra’s last parade night as he turns 18. We wish you the best in your next chapter!

🎖️ Recognizing Excellence: Plenty of hard work was celebrated with the presentation of Good Conduct Badges and well-deserved promotions.

What a fantastic day for Rushden Sea Cadets at the Eastern Area Sailing Regatta! ⛵🏄‍♂️

A huge congratulations to AC Andrew, who sailed to an outstanding 1st place in the 5.8 Windsurfing competition, securing his place at the National Competition. An incredible achievement and a testament to all his hard work and dedication.

Well done also to LC Ben and NEC Thomas, who delivered a superb performance to claim 3rd place in the Open Quest Sailing event.

We are immensely proud of our cadets who represented Rushden today, demonstrating skill, determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the regatta.

Good luck to AC Andrew as he prepares to represent the Eastern Area at Nationals – we're all behind you! 👏

This week is Volunteers' Week, and Sea Cadets wouldn't be possible without our amazing volunteers!

From teaching on the water and leading parade night activities to keeping the unit running safely and efficiently behind the scenes, these dedicated individuals give up their time to help young people gain confidence, learn new skills, and launch into bright futures.

Over the May half-term our cadets had an absolute blast at the Rock UK Frontier Centre in Irthlingborough! It was a weekend packed with high-ropes challenges, team-building, and plenty of laughter.
We are so proud of how everyone stepped out of their comfort zone and supported one another. New skills were learned and unforgettable memories were made.
A massive thank you to the fantastic instructors at the centre, and a huge shoutout to our dedicated volunteers for making it all happen!
