We’ve just published a new article detailing the escalating governance crisis at Hillingdon Council. If you think local politics is boring, you need to read this.

Here is what is currently happening:

- The "Lemon" Scandal: Deputy Leader Cllr Richard Mills has been exposed for spending months hiding behind a fake Facebook profile (posing as a cartoon lemon) to mock residents, belittle community groups, and defend his own policies anonymously.

- The Hypocrisy: While publicly telling residents that transparency builds confidence, he was secretly and anonymously insulting the very people trying to hold the Council to account - later claiming it was just a "focus group."

- A Council in Chaos: This behaviour comes amidst a damning CIPFA report into the Council's failing governance, anonymous leaks from inside the Civic Centre, and the sudden resignation of the acting chair of the Council’s most important financial scrutiny committee.

- The Silence: The Council Leader Steve Tuckwell has refused to comment or condemn his Deputy's actions.

Residents deserve a Deputy Leader who holds himself to the same standard of openness he demands of everyone else. Formal Code of Conduct complaints are now being filed.

St Martin’s Approach Car Park: Why the Planning Application has to be on hold for archaeology

The planning application for new housing at St Martin's Approach car park cannot be decided until an archaeological dig has taken place on site - and that dig hasn't started yet.
