Our "Town Crier" magazine is now available as an Audiobook!

With thanks to all of the volunteer voices, we are proud to present our first ever audio version of the Town Crier magazine. Each article is read out with chapters available in the video so that you can jump to the article that interests you - or listen to the whole thing.

We welcome feedback on this, our first attempt, so that we can make the Spring edition of the Town Crier Audio edition even better.

We’ve just published a new article detailing the escalating governance crisis at Hillingdon Council. If you think local politics is boring, you need to read this.

Here is what is currently happening:

- The "Lemon" Scandal: Deputy Leader Cllr Richard Mills has been exposed for spending months hiding behind a fake Facebook profile (posing as a cartoon lemon) to mock residents, belittle community groups, and defend his own policies anonymously.

- The Hypocrisy: While publicly telling residents that transparency builds confidence, he was secretly and anonymously insulting the very people trying to hold the Council to account - later claiming it was just a "focus group."

- A Council in Chaos: This behaviour comes amidst a damning CIPFA report into the Council's failing governance, anonymous leaks from inside the Civic Centre, and the sudden resignation of the acting chair of the Council’s most important financial scrutiny committee.

- The Silence: The Council Leader Steve Tuckwell has refused to comment or condemn his Deputy's actions.

Residents deserve a Deputy Leader who holds himself to the same standard of openness he demands of everyone else. Formal Code of Conduct complaints are now being filed.

St Martin’s Approach Car Park: Why the Planning Application has to be on hold for archaeology

The planning application for new housing at St Martin's Approach car park cannot be decided until an archaeological dig has taken place on site - and that dig hasn't started yet. The Greater London Archaeology Advisory Service (GLAAS), which advises the council on heritage matters, has made this a required step before any decision can be made, and because the trenches will sit within the working car park, residents should expect some parking spaces to be temporarily out of use once digging begins....

As the summer heat continues and the Affinity Water hosepipe ban takes effect across Ruislip, residents are making daily sacrifices to protect our local water supply.
