The team which organised the highly successful Rugby Spring Fair have begun distributing some of the funds raised to organisations which supported the event free of charge.
Simon Maguire, the Event Manager, said “one of the first to receive a donation was PTI Express whose curtain-sided trailer was used as the stage for the musicians and singers who entertained us in front of the PTI Arena. PTI also donated the use of a van to collect and return tables and chairs which were loaned from the Rugby Baptist Church – who also received a donation from the Spring Fair proceeds.”
Simon Fox, of PTI Express, said “we were delighted to support the Spring Fair and to receive this unexpected donation from the team. We quickly decided to spend the donation on items for the Rugby Food Bank and matched the funds received with a donation of our own.”
Adi Robinson, manager of the Rugby Foodbank, said "it was fantastic to receive this generous donation of essential items, which will provide vital support to people in our community who are facing real hardship. The Foodbank currently supports a significant number of families across Rugby, and the need continues to rise as the cost of living crisis affects more households. Contributions like this make a meaningful difference, helping us ensure that no one has to go without food in a time of need.”
