USA and Canada
Following the brilliant success of the 2025 trip, Rugby District are heading back — and this time, you could be part of the adventure!
We’re offering an unforgettable North American experience in summer 2029, open to all Explorer Scouts and Network Scouts aged 13 1/2 to 24 on or before 26th July 2029.
The trip is planned for 27th July to 10th August 2029, giving you 14 action-packed days of adventure, discovery and new experiences.
Ready to explore somewhere new, experience a different culture, challenge yourself, learn new skills and make fantastic memories with new friends?
Best of all, you’ll help shape the final programme of activities. Explorers and Network members will be supported throughout, so everyone can have a say and get the most from the experience.
Trip Itinerary
Our adventure begins in Toronto, Canada:
· Days 1 & 2: Discover the sights, neighbourhoods and energy of Toronto, the capital of Ontario.
· Day 3: Experience the spectacular Niagara Falls up close on an unforgettable boat trip.
· Day 4: Visit the world-famous Corning Museum of Glass and enjoy a hands-on glassmaking session before continuing to Virginia.
We’ll then spend nine days at Camp T. Brady Saunders in Virginia, our base for the next stage of the adventure:
· Explore everything the Boy Scouts of America have to offer at this fantastic camp reserve.
· Throw yourself into a huge range of exciting camp activities. See what’s on offer on Camp T. Brady Saunders’ page or their YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9S_2TIb0pIU&pp=ygUVY2FtcCB0IGJyYWR5IHNhdW5kZXJz
· Help plan and take part in a hike through the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
To round off the trip, we’ll travel to Washington, D.C. to explore the Capitol Building, the National Mall, the Washington and Lincoln Memorials and, if time allows, the White House, before an overnight flight home.

What’s Next
· Come along to a roadshow on Friday 6th November or Friday 20th November at Newbold Scout Group HQ, Lea Crescent, starting at 7pm. Meet the team, hear more about the adventure and ask any questions.
· Interested? Take the first step by completing our short expression of interest form

· If required, join us for a friendly selection event — date to be confirmed.
· If you’re offered a place, there are flexible ways to spread the cost:
o The cost of the trip is £2800 per Explorer / Network with a non-refundable deposit of £100 by 30th November 2026

o Then 31 Monthly payments of £84.00 December 2026 to June 2029 with a final payment of £96.00 on 1st July 2029

Alternatively, use the following payment milestones:
