Slavic Gospel Association - UK SGA (UK) is a non denominational, conservative evangelical Missionary Agency that serves and equips Christians in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Slavic Gospel Association is committed to working in partnership with local churches across Eastern Europe and Central Asia, helping them to address the particular challenges of building the Church of Jesus Christ in former Communist lands. This includes leadership training programmes, ongoing help for those in ministry, support for the translation and production of Christian literature and the provision of humanitarian aid.

BAPTISMS IN BAZNA

Although the evangelical church in Bazna, Romania, was established around 25 years ago, attendance had declined in recent years and the building had fallen into disrepair. However, under the leadership of SGA supported pastor, Jonatan Moldovan, and with support from believers in nearby Mediaș, new life has been breathed back into the church that has seen extensive renovations.

Nine months after services recommenced there, believers in Bazna have celebrated the baptisms of Mirela and Claudio, who have been attending weekly ever since the church reopened its doors.

Please pray for them both, and for Mirela’s husband who, despite being opposed to his wife’s faith, attended the service last weekend. Pray too for Jonatan and his wife Diana, who are reaching out with the Gospel to families in both Bazna and nearby Blăjel and have dreams of further developing the site at Bazna to provide ever greater opportunities for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

GOD'S WORK DOES NOT STOP

Despite the war, Christian camps for children and teenagers continue to take place across Ukraine this summer.

It has been a difficult summer. Russian attacks have not stopped—they have become increasingly intense and exhausting, leaving devastating consequences for civilians.

Yet even in the midst of war, God's work does not stop. When things are being destroyed, God continues to build. While war sows fear and death, the Church is sowing God's Word, love, and hope. The seeds being planted today in the hearts of children and teenagers will bear fruit in the years to come.

Helen, aged 8, attended an SGA-sponored camp this summer.
She writes: "I really loved the camp! The Bible stories were so interesting, especially the ones about Noah and Jesus. I realised that I need God… and I can give my life to Him. I learned that Jesus is very powerful and that He died for my sins. I want to go to church!"

🇷🇴Romania Mission Team Update

This week SGA’s second Mission Trip of the summer is underway with a team of eight partnering with Daniel Cioban and Jonatan Moldovan in sharing the gospel in Romania.

Things have got off to an encouraging start with the team enjoying working both with each other and their Romanian brothers and sisters.

On Sunday, the team took part in services at both Mediaș and Agârbiciu, and on Monday commenced five days of children’s ministry in Bazna, Blăjel and Agârbiciu.

As well as youth gatherings, a ladies’ meeting, and a midweek church service, the week will also see them involved with ministry to widows and teaching English to Romanian children, before finally taking part in two more services next Sunday.

Please pray that God would use the team to reach many with the gloriously good news of Jesus Christ and that many, having heard it, will call on the name of the Lord and be saved.

“One of the most touching things is watching the children change. Many of them open a Bible for the very first time, hear about God's love for the first time, learn how to pray, and begin asking deep questions about faith.

When parents tell us that their children become more loving, praying before bedtime, retelling Bible stories, or treating their family members in a different way than before, it becomes clear that God's Word is truly touching their hearts.

This camp has also changed me. It has taught me to love people more deeply, to serve selflessly, to trust God, and to recognise the value of every child. Despite the long days of preparation and the physical exhaustion, I am continually reminded that there is no greater joy than seeing children's eyes filled with hope and a growing desire to know God.”
