KYRGYZ BIBLE PROJECT UPDATE
Last year, SGA, in partnership with Bibel Mission, began a project to distribute 30,000 copies of God’s Word across the largely Islamic country of Kyrgyzstan. Already 15,000 Bibles and 20,000 Family Bible Storybooks have been produced, with a further 20,000 copies of the New Testament expected to be printed shortly.
Despite some administrative challenges, these were made available through local churches and were joyfully received by many who previously had no access to the Scriptures.
One such individual was a young man called Amir* who attended a camp for university students where he heard the Gospel for the very first time. He began asking many thoughtful questions regarding the Christian faith until one day he requested a copy of the book he had always wanted to read - the Bible.
As Amir read, he began to learn about the Old Testament prophecies concerning the Messiah, and about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus — not merely a prophet, but the Son of God.
For Amir, the Bible was more than a gift. It marked the beginning of a journey of discovering God’s truth — a journey he continues today.
