We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our followers a very Merry Christmas and to wish everyone a very Happy New Year.

The railway is currently closed for winter maintenance which this year involves some planned track relaying. These pictures show several panels which have been removed, this is to allow the ballast to be washed and for the formation to be slightly realigned and relaid

Autumn is very definitly here now, certainly much cooler than it was. Its the start of half-term week but the weather is looking really good, at least for the start of the week.

Which is good news, as this Wednesday (29th) is the last chance for the 2025 season to come and ride our trains! If you need some entertainment for the children one afternoon, or an excuse to get out of the house for a while, come and enjoy a few rides on the trains and a hot drink from the refreshment room.

Plenty of tickets avaliable, there is just one single session in operation, tickets avaliable as always from our Trybooking site here >

It's a foggy start to the morning but the forecast for this afternoon is actually looking pretty good for October, should be clear sunshine for the second half at least!

Today is the penultimate running of the season and there are still tickets left for both sessions. You can still get them on our trybooking site or we can do turn ups (with card payments)

Our final running day of the year will be a single session during half term on the 29th.

It's hard to believe but the year is rapidly drawing to a close, which means the end of our running season is also approaching. There are still two more sessions though, so time to get in a last run of the year.

The next session is on Sunday 12th October, slightly earlier in the month than normal, and tickets are now live on our Trybooking site at https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/91910 With tickets avaliable for both the early and late session, over 200 for each at the time of posting.

The final running day of the 2025 season is during half-term, on Wednesday 29th October, a shorter single session, so make sure you don't miss it!

July's Public Running was a bit hit and miss with the weather, thankfully there wasn't that much rain in the end , but we did have a few soggy drivers!!

The next open day is in August so hopefully that means lovely sunshine...but then..this is England, so who knows!!

Sunday 17th is the date you need to know, and tickets are avaliable on Trybooking as usual here > https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/89854 At the time of writing still plenty avaliable. Train rides will start at 13:00 (for the first session ticket holders) but the site will be open earlier, so if the weather is nice on the day, why not come and have a picnic in the field before we start. The refreshment room will be open as usual, well stocked with cakes, biscuits, tea, coffees, soft drinks and of course Ice Creams!

What a gloriously sunny day it was on Sunday for Father's Day trains at Rainsbrook Valley Railway, lovely to see all the families enjoying the sun, the trains, and even having picnic and games in the grassy areas.

The next running day is on July 20th, and tickets are already on sale on our trybooking page. Can't promise the same brilliant sunshine but we'll certainly ask for it!

What a glorius sunny day we had yesterday for the first Public Running of the 2025 season. It looked like everyone was having a really good time, and it was so nice to see people using the green space once again.

Tickets are now avaliable for the next running session on Sunday 18th May, and can be bought on trybooking here > https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/83061

Once again, visitors are welcome to come early or stay later and enjoy the outdoors, but will only be able to travel on the trains for the session for which they are booked and have appropriate coloured wrist bands.

We are also running on Wednesday 28th May if you need half term entertainment, tickets for that are to be release on the 30th of April

It's the middle of April, so yes, our Public Running season is about to start!!

Our first open day is on Sunday 27th April, but please note! There are some changes this year!

For the 2025 season we are experimenting with a shorter day for our volunteers. Going forward we are now running 2 consequtive afternoon sessions, running as 13:00 to 14:30 and 14:30 to 16:00. Note! The station gates will close 10 minutes before the end of each session, anyone in the queue at that point will get their ride and should be returned to the station within 10 minutes of the session finishing.

We have also moved our ticket booking system over to trybooking.com who charge a lower fee than Eventbrite. You can find the tickets for both session here > https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/77394

Customers are welcome to arrive early as use the site for a picnic area should you wish, as was teh case before Covid. Our refreshment room will be open throughout and you are invited to make use of it. If you have tickets booked for the first session, and want to stay on later, you can buy extra tickets on the day either online or on site.

We look forward to seeing you over the course of the year!
