Spring is just so close we can taste it!
Join us on our second walk of the year at the wonderful RSPB Sandwell Valley nature reserve.
We shall be heading down to the bird hide at the start of the walk, checking out some cool goobers, and enjoying some camaraderie.

To attend, please book your free slot, link in bio. We ask people to book their place so that we know how many walk leaders we need on the day.

Sandwell Valley Walk & Bird Watch
Sunday 22nd February 2026 12PM-2PM

Meet Up Point - RSPB Sandwell Valley Visitor Centre, Tanhouse Ave, Birmingham B43 5AG

Trail - A 1.8mi/2.9KM loop around the reservoir lasting 40-60 minutes, we shall spend 30 minutes inside the bird hide if it is open.

Public Transport - 16/16A bus from Birmingham city centre.

Terrain - Flat and well-maintained, sandy/gravel footpaths, wheelchair user-friendly. Beware that the trail may be full of puddles if there has been excessive rain.

Feel free to pack some lunch or grab a bite at the on-site RSPB cafe.

Well-behaved dogs (to be kept on leads) and allies are welcome.

Terrain - Mostly flat, uneven cobbled sections, a handful of steep bridges, two claustrophobic canal tunnels, and potential ice.

Join us on an autumnal tree trail walk around Highbury Park, witness the parakeet horde, and hang out with some pleasant waterfowl at the pond.

Trail - A 1.6mi circular loop around the reserve, 60 mins.

Terrain - Gravel car park, paved trail, but there are many uneven parts and potholes.

Terrain - Mostly flat, rolled gravel surfaces and some natural surfaces that can become muddy in recent rain.

Trans & Non-binary Community Walk: Connect through Nature
Saturday 30th August 12PM - 1.30PM

LGBT+ Nature Connect are excited to invite trans, non-binary and gender diverse folks* to join them for a walk in Cannon Hill Park. The walk will include a tree trail of 22 awesome trees, many ducks, and some all-round excellent q***r nature vibes.

The walk is over easy terrain and is wheelchair accessible. It will last from 60 to 90 minutes, plus there will be some post-walk drinks and snacks at the MAC. A FREE £5 voucher will be provided for each attendee towards food and drink.
Booking is essential, and further details, such as the meet-up point, will be emailed to you before the event. Link in bio.

If you need to bring a support worker or carer who is cisgender, they are welcome but will need to book a place as well.

The lazy summer nights lie thick upon the city. Why not spend it meeting some critters and vibing with some like-minded folks?

Wednesday Wildlife Walk
Wednesday 2nd July 2025 - 6PM

A 1 to 1.5 hour long evening walk where we visit local wildlife at the Great Park reservoir and nip to the pub for some grub. Peas for the critters shall be provided.

Meet up point - Morrisons Rubery Entrance, Birmingham, B45 9AH - 63/49 bus.

Trail - Through the woods to the Great Park Reservoir, along the Rea Valley Trail, ending at the Cambridge pub in Longbridge.

Terrain - Mostly flat, the first section can get muddy if it rains. The route can be altered for wheelchair accessibility.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but they will need to be kept well away from the critters at the reservoir.

Session Four and Five: Making and Celebrating

What's On - We shall be making our craftivism pieces and community noticeboard on the Saturday, then we shall be finalising the pieces on Sunday followed by a celebration showcasing our work.

Location - FizzPOP Makerspace CIC, 35 Coventry Street, Digbeth, B5 5NH

Bring some recycling and material scraps as well as the things we foraged during session one!

Refreshments shall be provided, there's also a fridge and microwave on-site for storing packed lunches, email or DM us to book your FREE place now!
