🌍 13,255 MILES. TWO MONTHS. ONE PURPOSE.

We’re not just covering miles. We’re going the distance for a good cause.

The Our Moon Virtual Journey will take us from Hartford, Connecticut, USA 🇺🇸 all the way to Chibombo, Zambia 🇿🇲, crossing continents, cultures and some incredible landmarks along the way.

Our virtual route takes us through:

This mid-October, we’re launching Our Moon’s Virtual Journey — a 13,255-mile challenge from Hartford, Connecticut, to Chibombo, Zambia.

Wherever you are in the world, join us by walking, running, cycling or rowing — outdoors or at the gym. Every mile brings us closer to our destination while helping raise vital funds for Our Moon Education and the students we support.

Some of our 2025–2026 cohort students are already making their way to their designated universities and adjusting to their new environments.

Agripa, who recently headed to Bocconi University in Italy, wrote:

“Leaving home was hard, but Milan has already become a place of growth. From stepping into a new classroom as a Black student to submitting my candidacy for class representative, I am embracing challenges with courage and optimism.

Leadership, I’ve learned, means both service and balance — whether in lectures or hiking with friends in Lecco.

Much of my confidence comes from the values Our Moon Education instilled: initiative, resilience and the courage to enter unfamiliar spaces.”

While we still wait for the whole cohort to make their transitions, we are proud of those who have already begun their journeys.

Agripa’s story reminds us that stepping into new spaces is not just about academics, but also about having courage, building resilience, and embracing challenges.

Our young leaders finding their footing in different corners of the world is proof that our community’s values travel with them. Their experiences echo a shared truth: growth is not confined to the classroom; it is found in every challenge embraced and every friendship formed.

On the 12th of this month, we hosted a Gala Dinner at Mkango GolfView Hotel — a special evening celebrating 10 years of Our Moon’s journey and impact since its launch, while also raising funds to support our organisation and its mission.

It was an incredible evening filled with joy, from exciting games to lively dances. The Gala brought together our internship partners, alumni, current students, friends and supporters who share a deep belief in our mission and values.

As we celebrated a decade of Our Moon, the event was also a powerful reminder of what is possible when we invest in young people. When we believe in their education and potential, we empower them to rise, grow and become changemakers who can positively transform their communities.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us and made the celebration so special. We are especially grateful to our internship partners, donors, friends and supporters who continue to stand alongside us and make our work possible.

Thank you for believing in young people. Thank you for believing in our mission. And thank you for being part of this journey.

Together, we are changing one life to change a thousand.

Here’s another milestone worth celebrating!

Congratulations to Fredrick, who graduated from Georgetown University with the Dikran Izmirlian Dual Degree Program in Business and Global Affairs and a minor in Economics.

Offered jointly by Georgetown’s prestigious School of Foreign Service and the McDonough School of Business, the Izmirlian Program sits at the intersection of business and international affairs, preparing graduates to tackle global challenges through both business and policy.

Fredrick’s journey from Our Moon to Georgetown University is a testament to determination, resilience, and hard work. His achievement reflects years of commitment and perseverance.

As he begins this new chapter, we are excited to see all that lies ahead and the impact he will make. We wish you all the best!
