Club members were out at the Wickham Festival this weekend supporting The Rose Road Association, a charity that provides a range of care services, including overnight short breaks, onsite and offsite outreach and day services, and telephone SEN advice services, for children and young people with complex disabilities and their families, across Southampton and surrounding areas. By selling headbands to adorn the Festival revellers - we managed to raise almost £700 - a fantastic result.

Despite the regretable SWANMORE VILLAGE FETE CANCELLATION, Lions Club members will draw the raffle this afternoon at 3pm and call the winners to arrange collection/delivery of the prizes. The Club would like to say a huge thank you to all its supporters for providing such a brilliant selection of prizes. Good luck everyone who bought a ticket over the last few weeks.

SWANMORE VILLAGE FETE CANCELLED!!
Following the amber weather warning, sadly the Meon Valley Lions Club have taken the decision to cancel the Swanmore Village Fete on Saturday 11th July, in line with NHS guidelines.

Club members have hand delivered the programmes around the local area, so advertisers can be assured their message has been circulated.

We have also sold over 1,800 raffle tickets, so we will be doing the draw on Saturday 11th July at 3pm, at the Pavilion in the Swanmore Recreation Ground, when winners will be contacted and the results posted on our website and Facebook.

Weather permitting, we plan to run a ‘Picnic in the Park’ on Sunday 20th September - similar to what we did post-Covid, with just the BBQ, games and perhaps some music, so keep an eye on our social media and website for updates.

We are really sorry, but sure you will agree, this is the safest option for everyone.

Swanmore Village Fete cont...
We’ve made some changes this year and as well as most of the usual attractions, we have some new items on the programme
We’ve got a great line up to keep everyone entertained….there’ll be plenty to occupy the car and bike enthusiasts and once again, we have dog agility display.
DOES YOUR DOG HAVE SKILLS?? If so, bring them along and have a go!!!

We’ve got some fantastic prizes thanks to the generosity of local business; were hugely grateful for their support as without them and the local community, we wouldn’t be able to help the people we do.

Great day at Bishop Waltham Rotary Club Summer Fayre yesterday. Thanks to everyone who ate our food and played our games, you’ve all help raise money for charity. And don’t forget, you can do it all again in three weeks at the Meon Valley Lions Swanmore Fete on 11th July. Looking forward to seeing you all again then. 🦁🦁

The Club have been helping out at various charity events throughout the summer and we’re now counting down ready for our ‘main event’ - next Swanmore fete on Saturday 11th July.

We’re here at Wickham Square as well as Bishop’s Waltham High Street collecting used glasses and handing out ‘Message in a Bottle’ emergency bottles. Hopefully see you soon.
