Dear Parents

Just a reminder that this Tuesday is the final meeting of the Session. There will be a short programme of marching and games, followed by the presentation of the Awards the boys have been working for all year. Families and friends are invited to join us in the Shinty Club for a 6.30 pm start.

Dear Parents

Next Tuesday, 10th March, the Anchor Boys will be visiting the Fire Station. They should meet as usual at 6.30 pm at the Shinty Club. After registration, if the weather is dry, we will walk across the park to the station. If not, we will take them over by car. Either way, please ensure the boys have suitable outdoor clothing and footwear on. They can be picked up from the Fire Station at the usual time of 8 pm.

The Junior Section will remain in the Shinty Club. They will be competing in the local round of the BB International Games Competition.

If you have a son in both sections, please pick up the Anchor boy first, by 7.50 pm, as we need to be out of there by 8 pm.

Due to the storm and power cuts, tonight’s session has been cancelled. The safety of our Boys and leaders is paramount.

The party scheduled for tonight will now take place when we return in January.

We have been learning all about Early Life and how people long ago used to live in caves. We also discussed how caves had other uses such as for keeping things cool or for defence. Our junior boys were tasked with making a cave in a box! We think the results look fantastic!

Dear Parents

Just a reminder that the Enrolment Service is on tomorrow, Sunday. The boys should meet in the hall upstairs at Isle of Bute Parish Church, no later than 10.40 am. In uniform if they have one.

They are taking part ln the service and will receive their Membership Card. All family and friends are invited to attend too.

Next Tuesday we will meet up at the Isle of Bute Parish Church (formerly the High Kirk/UCB) at 6.30 pm to practise for the Enrolment Service on Sunday, 16th November, in which the boys will be taking part. They can be picked up from there at the now usual time of 8 pm.

We look forward to seeing our boys back tomorrow night at the Lade Centre.

Please remember it’s 6.35pm - 7.45pm for our Anchor boys (red jumpers) and 6.35pm - 8pm for our juniors (blue jumpers).

At present, we are still trying to evaluate the space available and some of our new volunteers have not quite completed their registration yet. Therefore we are not in a position to accept new recruits at present. We will prioritise new members from the families of existing boys if we can't open recruitment more fully.

We should be able to make a final decision on this and inform parents by email and facebook by the weekend.

Last night our boys had great fun learning all about dinosaurs!
Our leaders were really impressed with their knowledge and how easily they identified the correct species from a description. We then played a fun game where we tried to knock over cones with a dinosaur tail - it was hard work navigating with a long tail.
The anchor boys they crafted dinosaurs from plasticine, while the juniors had a go at creating a flying pterodactyl!

We are now on holiday for two weeks and looking forward to seeing the boys back on Tuesday 21st October!

BB starts again this Tuesday. We have 6 weeks left in this session and the final instalment of £15 for subscriptions is now due.

Our Awards & Parents Night will be on Tuesday, 25th March at 6.30 pm, to which you are all invited.
