Bute Community Winter Garden In 2026 the iconic Winter Garden was bought by Bute Community Land Company.

Now we are on a mission to continue to operate the cinema whilst bringing back the building to its former glory and using the beautiful domed arena as an event space.

As part of Screen Argyll's Community Climate Cinema programme we will be showing a series of films - the first one being Power Station on the 28th June.

Power Station is a 2025 British documentary film that follows artist-activists Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn as they attempt to kickstart a renewable energy revolution from their street in Walthamstow, East London. The film documents their inspiring journey to take their neighborhood off-grid by installing solar panels, raising funds, and even launching a bid for a Christmas number-one single.
