As you may be aware, Fred. Olsen Renewables has been operating Rothes Wind Farm, located approximately 4km west of Rothes, since 2005. We are always eager to keep building on our links with the local community and are holding a family fun weekend on the 1st and 2nd of June.
Local residents, wind farm enthusiasts and other interested parties are all invited to visit Rothes Wind Farm for a free, fantastic day out. This is a chance to get close up to the turbines, and visitors will be able to take part in fun-filled activities for all ages.
Attendees will be transported by coach to the wind farm. Once there, they will be taken on a magical, and educational, tour of the wind farm site before enjoying a complimentary lunch and refreshments. Activities in our marquee will include a special bee keeping demonstration and tasting from Triskele Honey, alongside crafting activities for children.
The Fred. Olsen Renewables team will be on hand to talk about all things wind power before the event draws to a close.
The events are taking place on:
Saturday 1st June – 10:10am – 3.30pm
Sunday 2nd June – 10:10am – 3.30pm
Attendees will be picked up at their selected pick-up point of Rothes, Elgin or Dallas, where they will join their hosts on the coach and be transported to the wind farm. The coach will depart the wind farm at 2.30pm, returning attendees to Dallas, Elgin and Rothes for 3.30pm.
