This week we’re celebrating the birth and adopted children in our fostering families!!

Every year The Fostering Network celebrate all young people who share their homes and families with children and young people

It’s a big change to foster, and even bigger for the birth children so making sure they are included, listened to and supported is so important

You all deserve to be celebrated, not just this week but every week. So from us at Safe Base THANKYOU 🩵💜

This month, we have joined ORG Nutrition to celebrate !

Together with our carers have have been encouraging young people to:
• EXPLORE better snacking
• TRY new snacks
• MAKE their own healthy snacks

Throughout October we'll be sharing stories, book ideas and simple ways to celebrate together.

Every child deserves to feel proud of their identity!

💛 Su***de Awareness Month 💛

Foster carers play such an important role in creating a safe space where children and young people feel able to talk about how they’re really feeling

It’s not always easy to know what to say, but listening without judgement, checking in and letting them know you’re there can mean more than you realise

And remember that foster carers need support too. You don’t have to have all the answers! Sometimes being able to talk to someone and ask for help is just as important

This month we had a workshop with Andys Man Club but even just a brew and a catch up with a friend can do the job. Don’t forget you are important too!

We were so pleased to welcome Andys Man Club to Safe Base for an honest, informative and really valuable session with our foster carers

It was a great opportunity to learn more about men’s mental health, the importance of talking, and how we can better support ourselves and the people around us!

A huge thank you to Andy’s Man Club for helping us start some really important conversations

August 2026 highlights:

It’s been an epic summer again, we are so grateful to the Foster Carers we have who have provided an unforgettable summer for their young people! Memories have been made and good times have been had!

I am sure the countdown was on for back to school, it’s been a busy 6 weeks! But well worth it all ☺️

What a day! Paddle boarding, a picnic and a fiercely competitive game of rounders 😂🏏🌊

Just when we thought we’d packed in enough excitement, a thunderstorm rolled in and sent us racing for cover!
