Rotherham Sea Cadets This is the OFFICIAL Rotherham Sea Cadets page. If you are between 10 and 12 you can join as a Junior, 12 to 18 as a Sea Cadet.

The Sea Cadets is part of the national Marine Society and Sea Cadets Charity - a youth organisation that provides a wide range of fun and engaging activities to over 15,000 youngsters between the age of 10-18, at almost 400 locations throughout the UK. Cadets go to sea, learn to sail and do adventure training, on a nautical theme, plus you can get extra qualifications to give you a head start in life. Some other Units will take Royal Marines Cadet aged between 13 - 18. Recruitment evenings are held throughout the year, watch our wall for information. My time in GNTC then Sea Cadets finally end up with me been the CO the unit I joined as cadet. I still have contact with lots of friends from my days in cadets. I left cadets to join the WRNS after 9 years I came back to T.S Repulse, as an adult, where I completed BTech and CVQ training in youth work,but helped me with IT jobs at Toyota and then at the worlds local bank as crypto SME/IT specialist
One of the main things the cadets taught me that you will not always achieve in the direction you think, but there are always alternatives.
Yes the cadet is still a good place for young people to learn achieve and experience new skills. All young people should be given the chance to try

I was a Cadet and now I am the Head of Plans for the United Kingdom Carrier Strike Group, based on the Aircraft Carrier HMS PRINCE OF WALES. Having joined Rotherham Sea Cadets at 12 years old. I met some amazing people staff and cadets who inspired me and gave me the opportunity of exposure to the Royal Navy. Friendship, personal admin & orgaisation, sailing, shooting, drill, teamwork and leadership were just a few of the skills I learnt. I left School and the Cadets at 16 to join the Navy. 19 years as a Rating and 22 years as a Officer, I am now a Commander and still use the many skills I learnt as a young man at TS REPULSE, even after 42 years. I might stay if I like it🤣🤣🤣🫡⚓️🫡⚓️

I was a cadet, married Gary Dean, we met at the cadets. I served 9 years in the Navy. left having achieved Petty Officer. Had 3 children, qualified as a social worker in 2010 and now work in the NHS. The cadets gave me confidence and a belief that I could have goals in life. I still have friends from the cadets all those years ago. Aim high and don't be put off by others. Gary says he had his best life in the Royal Marines. Good luck for the future.

We're incredibly proud that HRH The Princess Royal, Admiral of the Sea Cadet Corps, has sent a special message to launch our big week.

“The first National Cadets Week is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of cadets across all our Services and the difference they make in communities throughout the United Kingdom.

As Admiral of the Sea Cadet Corps, I have seen at first hand how Sea Cadets gives young people from every background the confidence, resilience and practical skills to meet life’s challenges. It also instils teamwork, responsibility and a commitment to others.

These opportunities would not be possible without the dedicated volunteers who give their time, experience and encouragement so generously.

I am pleased to launch Sea Cadets’ celebrations for the first National Cadets Week and send my best wishes to every cadet and volunteer taking part. I hope their example will inspire many more young people and adults to become involved.”

National Cadet week is here!

The Sea Cadets has been established in Rotherham since 1942.

This week we will hear from past and present member of the Ships Company, remembering that once 'T.S Repulse Always, T. S Repulse.''

Please celebrate all that the Cadets and particularly the Sea Cadets can offer the young people of Rotherham.

From Science Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) to aviation, Adventurous training to Kayaking and catering, the limits really are endless for our young people.

T.S Repulse is very proud of its links to the submarine service having been last affiliates to the Polaris Submarine HMS Repulse prior to her decommissioning in 1996. 125 years of the submarine service and counting. A phenomenal commitment of the boats and their crew!

To all Navy Cadets, Volunteer Staff and Supporters

On this landmark occasion of the first ever National Cadets Week, I want to recognise you all for your dedication and service. Every day you make a profound impact in your local communities. To all our Royal Navy and Royal Marines Cadets and affiliated Sea Scouts, the energy, discipline and leadership you display inspires everyone around you.

To our volunteer staff, uniformed and non-uniformed, your selfless commitment and mentorship are the bedrock of this movement; we quite simply could not do this without you.

Together, you are outstanding ambassadors for the Royal Navy and your communities. Across the Naval family we celebrate your success and take a great pride in your achievements.

To mark this year's National Cadets Week, we are honoured to share a special message from His Majesty The King, recognising and thanking you for your incredible commitment and service.

Following what has been another busy weekend at the Unit it was a great pleasure to support the RAF Air Cadets and veterans at the Battle of Britain Service at Clifton park. Here we joined joined together to remember those who lost their lives during the Battle of Britain.

The unit also has a number of cadets and a staff who attended the training weekend at Driffield Camp.

Well done to all showing that Cadets not only train hard but play such a vital part I. The communities to which we serve.
