BUY A BRICK 4 BARNSLEY
Help 4 Homeless Veterans charity having completed purchasing and preparing our first ever home WOOD HOUSE in Rotherham recently, now turn our efforts to re-running our Buy A Brick campaign in the charity's spiritual home in Barnsley.

We are off to a flying start with £10,000 set aside from the previous Mayor of Barnsley's fundraising term in office.
David Leech and our Founder Tom Wood both Infantry served on the Green line in Cyprus in the late 70's a few years after me with the RAF in July 1974 when the island was invaded.🫡

Back to Barnsley Tom has challenged me to achieved our aim before my 72nd birthday next June so any veterans wishing to help fundraise get in touch with either

We hope that
Dave Joe Hayward and the new Armed Forces Champion Mark Langridge and Council AF Lead Anne Asquith
And new SofS for Defence Dan Jarvis MP for Barnsley
can support this initiative.
The need is there: two other charities just yesterday have asked if we can assist a Barnsley veteran about to be released.

BARNSLEY VETERANS

Unfortunately Help 4 Homeless Veterans charity couldnt be there at AF Day this year. But we would like to let the veterans community know that we are launching our Buy A Brick 4 Barnsley to replicate the first house purchase we just completed in Rotherham. Get behind us as we step up our fundraising activities in and around the Town.

Rotherham Armed Forces Day
weather was kind the Dakota flew low overhead 3 passes. Lots of nice people donating.
Had the pleasure of Keith Hopkins and Eve Rose Keenans company.
Cousin Leslie Leng said hello.
Keith made a generous donation in memory of Judith whose funeral was only 2 days ago.
Met the new Mayor and last years Mayor and next years Mayor whilst sitting with a past Mayor. What a nightMayor lol. All lovely people.
Old friends Christine Bradley and John Healey came to say hello.
It was great to be able to tell people about our successful Buy A Brick Campaign and the Opening of Wood House.
Quick count up we reckon we raised £180. Thankyou to everyone who donated to our charity today.

Yesterday sadly I had to pay my last respects to a lovely lady Judith Hopkins who I first met with Keith in 2012 as founding members of Rotherham MCVC.
I Learnt things yesterday of her full life her lovely family and fine husband jointly doing food deliveries to Kiev in 2006 and 2008.
A life well lived Rest in Peace Judith. It was a pleasure to know you both.

Right guys, Iv had a rest from charity work but now BACK!! Let’s get cracking on this one now which is exactly 2 months away!!

🫡 Still looking for volunteers to join us sleeping on the beer garden with nothing more than a sleeping bag.

Starting next week I’ll be doing hampers, football cards, raffles to make a start on the total. As they did so well last time you can expect…..
