A massive thankyou to outgoing Barnsley Mayor David Leech and Consort Alison Leech and Rebecca Leech for everything you have done for our charity this Mayoral year.

As his year in office comes to a close, Barnsley’s outgoing Mayor, David Leech, has reflected on a memorable 12 months supporting local causes and communities. Raising an incredible £36,106.50 for two local charities, supporting families affected by su***de and veterans facing homelessness.

Alongside Mayoress Alison Leech, he’s attended events across the borough, from school visits to community celebrations, with a real focus on inspiring young people to learn more about Barnsley’s history and democracy.

Mayor David Leech said:
“It has been a real privilege to serve as Mayor and to meet so many people across our borough… I’ve been truly inspired by the kindness, dedication and community spirit I’ve seen throughout the year.”

The next Mayor of Barnsley will be announced at Annual Full Council on Friday 29 May.

One big bonus of buying Wood house is Tara Fothergill s Sandwich box is directly opposite.
This morning whilst supporting a homeless veteran we stopped for a brilliant breakfast.
We have ensured the veteran has a roof over their head and food in their belly whilst the housing dept sort out their paperwork so he can get keys to his own place again.
Expensive hotels will soon be done with as soon as Wood House gets the green light.
Fire doors due 27th May hooray!
Tara has been feeding all our volunteer tradesmen for us since February. Thankyou.

Are you a veteran cyclist?
Survey seeking help £50 in it for your time.

We would like the help of veterans who do not usually use a car, Uses public transports / walks or cycles. The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority is currently developing a new mayoral e-bike subscription scheme to encourage more cycling and support people with a travel option for employment, training, and education. During this research we want to explore current modes of travel awareness of e-bikes, experiences of using e-bikes, and various topics around having an e-bike subscription scheme.

We have dates for three online focus groups.

As a thank you we do offer an incentive that is paid after the group. The session would last 1hour and 15 minutes. A £50 payment would be made afterwards as a thank you for your time and help.

David Leech and his Wife Alison
with a token of our gratitude for the money they raised for Help 4 Homeless Veterans charity during his term of office.
Barnsley Town Hall will announce the totals raised and donated shortly.

A huge thank you to The Not Forgotten for inviting some of our Help 4 Homeless Veterans veteran volunteers and their partners to today’s Buckingham Palace Garden Party, hosted by Princess Anne.

Receiving these invitations and being able to gift them to the incredible volunteers who give so much of their time and energy to support our Armed Forces community is an absolute pleasure. It’s a wonderful way to recognise the dedication, compassion, and commitment they show week in and week out.
All en route home tired but happy.
Thankyou for all that you do for our charity glad we could give you something back.

Right guys, Iv had a rest from charity work but now BACK!! Let’s get cracking on this one now which is exactly 2 months away!!

🫡 Still looking for volunteers to join us sleeping on the beer garden with nothing more than a sleeping bag.

Starting next week I’ll be doing hampers, football cards, raffles to make a start on the total. As they did so well last time you can expect…..

Help 4 Homeless Veterans charity plugging a gap again. We have already helped this veteran but his move in date to a council flat has slipped from Monday to Friday so to prevent him going back to sleeping in his car we have arranged a few more nights in a local hotel.
Help 4 Homeless Veterans charity doing what it says in our name FAST.

We are a double royal award-winning organisation doing what we can, when and where we can. Veterans helping fellow Veterans.

Come and say hello we are at Sunnyside top field until 4pm today Saturday.
Lovely to see Son/DIL Neil & Michelle then Grandaughter/partner Ellie Jade and Sam Angell and Jasper.
We raised around £210 today.
