We're kicking off Plein Air season in style!

We’ve got two opportunities to get outside and draw together this week - whether you want a relaxed local sketch or a bigger landscape trip.

Tonight (Thursday)
We’ll start by looking at our plein air sketching kits - what to take, what actually gets used, and how to keep things simple - this is always such a fun session to find the best tips and tricks from fellow members. Then we’ll head out to a nearby spot for some short, focused sketching together.

Meet at Garage Gallery, Grove Road, S60 2ER

Friday morning – Trip to Surprise View
We’re heading out to the beautiful Surprise View in the Peak District National Park for a morning of landscape sketching. Bring your sketching kit, warm layers, and something to sit on if you have it.

Meet 10.30am at Surprise View car park. (What 3 Words: ///worth.rods.crate)

Both sessions are relaxed and open to all levels - come to one or both.

We have a rare opportunity to rent a private, lockable studio within ROAR's creative community.

🎨 Opening Tomorrow at Garage Gallery: New Horizons

We're delighted to welcome artist Margaret Hall to Garage Gallery for the opening of her exhibition, New Horizons.

A self-taught artist inspired by light, colour, storytelling, and landscape, Margaret works across acrylic, oil, gouache, watercolour, and mixed media. This exhibition explores journeys both real and imagined – from familiar Northern landscapes to distant planets, surreal scenes, themes of freedom and change, and experiments in new artistic directions.

Bringing together landscape paintings, sketchbooks, mixed media works, and more abstract explorations, New Horizons reflects Margaret's ongoing curiosity and evolving artistic practice.

As an active member of ROAR, we're proud to share this thoughtful and varied exhibition with our community.

Opening Next Week at Garage Gallery: New Horizons by Margaret Hall

We’re excited to welcome artist Margaret Hall for her upcoming exhibition, New Horizons.
