It is with great sadness that we share the news that Masbrough Community Choir has taken the difficult decision to close and cease.
For nearly ten years, our choir has been filled with laughter, friendship, and music. It has been a true privilege to share our passion for singing with our communities through performances that celebrated togetherness and joy.
Masbrough Community Choir began in the summer of 2016 with an optimistic vision: to bring people together through music and a shared love of singing. Originally led by Emily and Elliott, the choir quickly grew in both size and spirit. Through many years, we enjoyed singing in concerts and community events alike. We were fortunate to be granted so many opportunities where we could showcase our musicianship and our love of singing.
Like many community groups, we navigated the challenges of online rehearsals during the COVID pandemic. In the post-COVID years, we moved venues to Greasbrough, where Emily eventually left us. Harry then joined us as Musical Director, bringing a wide range of skills and expertise to the role. Following the departures of Elliott and Harry, the choir was led by Amy, an incredibly versatile musician, and more recently by Fiona, who composed her own Christmas song for our most recent concert!
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all choir members, past and present, for their dedication and enthusiasm. Through the choir, lasting friendships were formed, including with some members who are sadly no longer with us. This truly reflected the strong ethos of friendship and support that defined our group.
Finally, thank you to our loyal audiences who watched, listened, and cheered us on throughout the years. Your support meant more to us than we can express.
Thank you, Masbrough Community Choir πΆ
