💔🐾 SHE LOST HER MUMMY TO DEATH AND NOW SHE’S LOSING HER DADDY TOO.
PLEASE, SOMEONE, HELP US STOP ASPEN’S WORLD FROM FALLING APART AGAIN.
Just look at that beautiful little face.
This is Aspen. She’s just 7 years old, and she’s already experienced more heartbreak than any dog should ever have to endure.
You see, Aspen once had a mummy.
Someone who loved her, cared for her and made her feel safe. Someone whose footsteps she knew, whose voice she recognised and whose love was her whole world.
But sadly, her mummy passed away.
Aspen couldn’t possibly understand why the person she loved had disappeared.
Why her life had changed.
Why her mummy wasn’t coming home.
Thankfully, someone opened their heart to her.
A new daddy. A second chance. Another person to love.
And Aspen did what dogs do so beautifully.
She gave him her whole heart.
But life has dealt this precious girl another devastating blow.
Her daddy is now terminally ill and in hospital.
And once again, through absolutely no fault of her own, Aspen is facing the loss of everything she knows and loves.
It absolutely breaks our hearts.
Because how do you explain to a dog that the person they’re waiting for may never come home?
How do you explain that the sofa they curled up on together, the familiar routines and the little moments that made up their whole world are about to change?
You can’t.
And that’s what makes this so desperately sad.
Aspen doesn’t know about illness, hospitals or the cruel unfairness of life.
She just knows how to love.
And she’s about to need someone new to love all over again.
WE ARE DESPERATELY SEARCHING FOR A LONG-TERM FOSTER HOME FOR ASPEN.
She’s not asking for a mansion, expensive toys or grand adventures.
Just the simple things that mean everything to a dog.
A comfy sofa where she can curl up beside her favourite human.
A gentle hand to stroke her beautiful face.
A garden where she can let loose and enjoy her silly little zoomies.
Someone to tell her she’s a good girl and make her feel that she belongs.
Aspen is a lovely, friendly girl who knows all about living in a family home.
She can be choosy with other dogs, so finding the right environment for her is important.
Aspen is also diabetic, which means she needs ongoing veterinary care.
But PLEASE don’t let that frighten you away.
Adoptapaws UK Rescue will cover her veterinary bills and support her long-term foster family, and because of this we are needing a potential home to be in the South Yorkshire area.
We aren’t asking someone to take on the financial burden of her medical needs.
We’re asking someone to give her their heart.
Because money can pay for medication.
It can pay for veterinary appointments.
But it cannot give Aspen that feeling of being loved, of belonging, of having someone beside her when she closes her eyes at night.
Only a person can give her that.
And somewhere out there, we hope there’s someone who has a little space on their sofa and an enormous amount of love in their heart.
Someone who will look at Aspen and see not a 7-year-old diabetic dog with a sad story…
But a beautiful little girl who still has so much love left to give.
We cannot change what has happened to her first mummy.
We cannot change the heartbreaking circumstances facing her daddy.
But together, perhaps we can change what happens next and bring comfort to her daddy knowing she’s loved again as he loves her.
Please don’t let the next chapter of Aspen’s life be another chapter of loss and loneliness.
Let it be one of gentle cuddles, happy zoomies, peaceful evenings and a human who loves her with all their heart.
Because after everything she’s been through…
Surely, surely, this little girl deserves to feel safe and loved again.
