So after yesterday amazing home education prom event, we are now looking for a new venue for next year. Our last venue is uncertain so we feel finding somewhere new will be the safest option for us.
We host one of the largest home education prom events in the UK and it is growing each year.
This year we had around 300 people attend (doubling the first year in 2023). So next year we need a venue that would hold about 500 and preferably in the south Yorkshire area.
The event is a celebration of home education for all ages, abilities and backgrounds to attend. This is also open for those that are interested in learning about home education to break down the barrier or maybe to learn how the can incorporate home education into their lives.
The current venue we use has indoor and outdoor seating, park, food vendors, rides and icecream van (own contracts) so we would like something similar to this but other than indoor seating the rest aren't deal breakers and were open to ideas.
Our previous proms events have included educational stalls each self insured, volunteer photographers, DJ, free sweet table, arts and crafts and other fun activities.
Going forward we would like to keep growing and have more educational stalls, competitions and prizes to win, press and media possibly attending and maybe some VIPs.
Our budget isn't huge at all. We try to keep ticket prices to a minimum as we want attending this event to be an option for everyone.
A lot of time and effort goes into arranging this prom most of which is done solely by me so finding somewhere asap would be great.
We do have a rough date in mind around the beginning of August. We are fine to do any day of the week also so if any venues have specific quiet days then that would be fine for us.
The times we do prom is from 6pm-9.30pm.
We would need access earlier on in the morning to decorate and also be able to arrive from 5pm ish to help the educational stalls set up.
If this is something you can offer or if you know anywhere that could offer this please let me know: :)
Thanks everyone,
Kim
