Well, its been a busy few days , getting hedgehogs ready for release, assessing them, giving them last tests and reading over their paperwork. Three 'misfits' found separately, formed a little group of orphans were this three...Noah, Star and Rainbow. They went to a special release site with very smart nest boxes...needless to say they decided to choose other places dotted about the huge garden! They have food on tap if they want it whuch is very important in a release site...

I want to say a special thanks to the 2 Police Scotland officers who kindly brought me Noah...they found a young lad trying to catch him on the road so stepped in and brought the little hoglet who we named Noah after the lad to the rescue. He did so well and is now a very large young hog. Friday was his release day and is reported to have taken up residence in a old Owl box that is on the ground!! He always was a wee character! I hope the people involved all see this post so please help by sharing it...

Its been one crazy summer, to date this year iv admitted 302 hedgehogs! But we are still alive and saving hedgehogs! After this 14 hedghogs have gone for release this weekend im more that freed up ready for the autumn orphans to start coming in for winter. Its a never ending battle to save hedgehogs.

I have a young lady with additional needs who I teach on a Tuesday and this is her work. She's come on leaps and bounds since she started over 2 years ago and she's very dedicated and caring. She chats away to me now non stop and is such an amazing person to work with... Here's this mornings work..before and after the mayhem little hoglet caused last night and the final result.
This is all a typical days work cleaning up messes like this. Hedgehogs can be very messy for cute little animals!!

Evening all! We are all doing well here. The autumn juveniles (second litters) are starting to arrive which is coming up to another tough time. Please put food and water out innthe garden if you can. A heavy bowl of water and some dry kitten food is the best thing to feed them and help them on their way to the winter. Iv done 7 releases the past few days , all youngsters that have been brought on from youngsters here at the rescue. So its always very special seeing them get that second chance.
Can you help? This is a great food im using just now, they eat it well , if you can spare a few pounds to order the hogs here some that would be a huge help. They are also in need of dry kitten food. Which is high in protein to help them gain weight.

These guys are busy munching their way through both getting ready for release day.

Thank you so much for all your paypal donations...i transfered it to the bank last night and went to pets at home today and bought the hogs sone much needed wet food as we are running low again!! Having nearly 83 hedgehogs all summer takes a lot of feeding. I thank you guys for the donations to the account no matter how big or small. It all adds up to make a difference.

A sad case today. This poor little soul came feeling very sore no doubt with severe bits holes in his face, and under his chin. Iv just finished cleaning him up, 11.30pm and giving him fluids and meds. Iv made him as comfortable. All of the wounds have been disinfected and he is lucky enough to have been spared both eyes which is good . Fingers crossed for him. Ill give him home a name in a few days if he pulls through.

Still very busy here though i did a few releases at the weekend. Most hesgehogs are young ones in just now and they are hungry and messy! All good fun but hard work . I think im surviving on coffee and yoghurt and cornflakes just now! One supporter gave me a voucher for Deliveroo which was a great treat, thanks so much to her for that.
