West Midlands Ambulance Service are recruiting Community First Responders!

Community First Responders are trained volunteers who respond to emergency calls in their community, providing vital care before an ambulance arrives. It’s a rewarding role that truly makes a difference when it matters most.

If you’ve ever thought about giving back, learning lifesaving skills or supporting your community in a meaningful way, this could be the volunteer role for you!

If you have any questions about being a CFR with our scheme please don’t hesitate to reach out, we would love to hear from you!

We’re really pleased to share that a Public Access Defibrillator and Bleed Kit has now been installed right in the heart of Duxmere Drive, at 1 Goodrich Close.

These lifesaving resources are available 24/7, giving our community extra peace of mind knowing help is close by if it’s ever needed. They will be looked after by us (HWCFR Ross-on-Wye)alongside the other CPAD sites we support ensuring they are always ready to use!

This is a fantastic addition to the area so please help spread the word that these lifesaving resources are there- They could make all the difference in an emergency.

On Sunday, our volunteers were proud to provide first aid cover at the Service of Commemoration at The Prospect. It was wonderful to see the community come together for this special service.

One of our volunteers also had the honour of doing a reading at the Remembrance Service at St Mary’s Church, which was a truly meaningful moment.

Thank you and well done to everyone who helped make Ross Remembrance so special.

The team had a fantastic day yesterday providing first aid cover for the Wydean Relay and Ultra run.

These are off-road running events starting in Ross-on-Wye and finishing in Chepstow, which is an astonishing 61km. The runners ran through rain and shine to the finish line, achieving some amazing times!

Well done to everyone involved 🏃 🏃‍♀️

Over the past couple of months we have received some generous donations to our charity to help keep our team in Ross-on-Wye operational 😊

We want to thank: Ross Baptist Church | Yew Tree Cider Competition | Bernard Hackett Court residents alongside Knit & Knatter to name just a few 😁

These vital donations are what keep our team operational and means our volunteers can respond and spread awareness to our community.
