A busy weekend for the unit.

🚣🛶🚤 We have 10 cadets on the Severn District Sea Cadets Boating Weekend taking part in rowing, kayaking & powerboating.

⛵️1 cadet on a windsurfing course at Sea Cadets Thrapston Boat Station

Our amazing cadets have now rowed just over 120 miles which is halfway. We’ve reached the outskirts of Hereford and won’t be long till we arrive in our home town!!

Our Sea Cadets are taking on an incredible challenge — rowing the full length of the River Wye… that’s a massive 155 miles! 💪🌊

We are raising money to launch our very own Sea Cadet Band, helping cadets learn new skills, build confidence, and take part in parades and ceremonial events.

Every mile rowed brings us closer to purchasing essential band equipment including instruments, drums, and uniforms. 🎺🥁

Our cadets have now rowed an incredible 30 miles as part of our challenge to row the full length of the River Wye.

That's almost 20% of our 155 mile target completed!

WELL DONE!!!

A big BZ to our rowing team who competed in the Severn District Sea Cadets rowing regatta last night.

They did an amazing job and came 3rd 🥉!! Even better they have been selected to represent the district at the South West Area Sea Cadets regatta in July! Along with CFC Ella who is also going to the Area Regatta in the paddlesport competition! It has been a long time since the unit has been to an area competition so this is fantastic news!!

⭐️ VOLUNTEERS WEEK ⭐️

Ms Alison Almond, UMT Secretary

My name is Alison and I am the secretary for the Unit Management Team and Trustees.

I have found that volunteering with the Sea Cadets is a rewarding way to support young people as they develop confidence, leadership skills, and teamwork. Serving as the UMT Secretary is an important role that helps keep the Unit running smoothly through effective administration, communication, and record-keeping. It provides an opportunity to contribute valuable skills, support the local community, and play a key part in creating positive experiences for cadets and volunteers alike. The flexible volunteering means that I can easily fit everything around family life. I have also had great fun out on the water and helping staff events such as the District Regatta. As well as meeting and making new friends with amazing fellow volunteers across Sea Cadets.
