Ross cadets joined other sector 5 squadrons last weekend for a brilliant day out at Cosford Airshow. We saw displays from the Red Arrows, Eurofighter Typhoon, Spitfire and Hurricane, and a Chinook helicopter among many others! The cadets got to speak to pilots and crews from various aircraft, along with companies who fit the theme of Engineering the Future. 🐝

This past weekend FS Seaborn, Sgt Turner & Cdt Pearson attended Exercise Jubilant Eagle.

Throughout the weekend they took part in Arms Drill, Silver Radio and Silver Space training, gaining valuable experience, developing new skills, and representing the squadron brilliantly.

This weekend some of our cadets completed the Bronze National Navigation Award Scheme. This consisted on a walk around the local area where they were assessed on their navigational ability such as orienteering the map, identifying where they were and the types of landmarks around them. This week saw 2 of our NCOs receive well deserved promotions - Sgt Seaborn promoted to Flt Sgt and Cpl Turner promoted to Sgt. Congratulations both! Something very special happened to Sgt Phoebe Seaborn just the other day at the Lord Lieutenants Ceremony. Phoebe was presented a certificate from the Royal Humane Society for actively responding appropriately in giving immediate care and then CPR to a gentleman who needed assistance whilst travelling to Hereford. This is an award that is very prestigious and well deserved. We are very proud of her. 🐝

This morning was spent in the Forest of Dean with several staff members and cadets mountain biking around the various trails. Skills were shared such as learning how to handle the gears, and how best to handle the bikes on rough terrain
