But as we all know, it’s not the sites and scenes that make the camp, but rather the people- so we wanted to say thank you to all the amazing people that came to Venturer Camp!

From the central volunteers to the group leaders, and of course all of our fantastic Venturers, you made camp the wonderful week it was, and it couldn’t have happened without you. We can’t wait to see you again in 2029! 💗🏕️

Staying Safe on Camp: The Rough Guide…because who wants to spend what could be a beautiful week at Biblins injured, ill or sunburnt?

For more information, please check the info-pack on the website. Clear guidelines on issues like site boundaries, going off site and fires will be communicated to Venturers and group leaders at the start of camp.

We have two more centres to announce, and they’re both ran by DFs! They are...

MEST-UP and the Democracy Centre!

Not only will MEST-UP be providing mediation and support on camp, they’ll also be providing a varied educational programme on a range of topics. Come and join in with workshops about LGBT history, neurodiversity in Woodcraft and many more, as well as regular chilled out craft sessions.

The Democracy Centre will be ran by members of DF and Venturer Committee and is all about participation and outreach! Come and ask all the questions you could possibly have about DFs (find out why we’re linking hands in concentric circles...is it because they’re a cult? Who knows?) and sign up to join the 26/27 Venturer Committee, as well as participate in a variety of workshops!

The full Code of Conduct can be found on the website, which we ask all volunteers and participants to read before camp, but here is a short accessible version to help understand the rules and expectations on camp.

To ensure everyone understands the practise of these guidelines, all campers will take part in a consent workshop led by MEST-UP and the safeguarding team in their villages on Sunday morning. This will be an accessible, interactive way to learn about the issues in the code of conduct and provide an opportunity to ask questions and troubleshoot any issues that may come up on camp.

On Sunday afternoon, all DFs will meet in the main marquee at 14:00 to discuss expectations on camp. This will also be a chance to arrange stewarding and MEST-UP shifts if you haven’t already signed up.

With any questions please contact, [email protected].

Volunteer support need some help…

They’re looking for:
1) Equipment (a bike with a basket, things to make the volunteer support space nice)
2) People! Volunteers to help maintain the space and provide tea & sympathy to volunteers

If you’re interested in a different wellbeing role, the accessibility and MEST-UP teams are both looking for volunteers to do shifts on camp!

Interested? Message or send an email to [email protected] (or fill in the form in our bio if you’re interested in MEST-UP)
