Elfwoods was established as a local response to several global initiatives that advocate more caring, fairer and respectful ways of living. The elfwoods community strives to support positive interactions with Nature, so that present and future generations can share, learn about, care for, and enjoy its legacy. We see ourselves as stewards of the 30 acres of land entrusted to us, championing Nature

and our relations with her. We aim to ensure that every visitor can share in the outstanding setting, character and tranquility of the woodland, while minimising our impact on Nature and on the local community.

Lots of activities to take part in

🌲 Firewood splitting.
🌲 Felling & Clearing Scots Pine trees.
🌲 Braces & Raftets for the new shelter.
🌲 Clearing heathland of gorse.
🌲 Continue work on bew camp pitches.

Come anytime between 10am and 4pm for as little or as long as you like!

There will be tea and coffee throughout the day and the fire will be lit to cook dinner at 4pm 🔥🪵

A massive thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who came today. Lots was achieved, yummy food and good company had 💚

The shelter roof is almost finished. Good progress has been made with our new camping pitchwhich is already looking very snazzy!
The firewood for our groups and campers has been topped up, ready for a busy season ahead.
All hands on deck meant we managed to get loads of chestnut poles out of the coppice woodland area as well as brash piles for creature habitats.

We look forward to seeing lots of you lovely folks next month 💪.

Howdy Elves! 🧚‍♂️🌲
I hope you've all had a sunny and restful Easter weekend.
We have a volunteer day this Saturday and would love if any of you can join us and lend a hand.
We will be working on the new camping pitches which Tim and his team have already made an amazing start on.
Max will be leading a small team to work on the shelter.
Camping is really ramping up now so lots of firewood for the splitting.
Theres plenty of housekeeping to be done on the heathland and in the wooded areas.
Bench components are all finished and just need assembling.
So lots on offer to have a go at and a yummy dinner to share at the end!
(Shhhh its also someones 'big' birthday this week so there might be some cake to share around!)
Fingers crossed this glorious weather continues for us 💚

Hello fellow Elves!
After some relatively sleepy months at Elfwoods, everything seems to be waking up!
We've had a steady stream of campers over the colder months (nutters!) and bookings are increasing all the time. This means a need for more firewood so axes at the ready!
The rain has seemed endless and has reminded us all how much we want to get the shelter finished so we can have a well covered area all year round.
There are benches and tables to finish building, new camping pitches to finish and a general tidying up of all the communal spaces.
So, plenty of activities to pick from and a restocked tea/coffee/biscuit supply that is waiting for you to tuck into! We will be providing a yummy warming soup lunch for our volunteers too 🥰

So here are some dates for your diaries. We would love you to join us and catch up with you all. Xx

Exciting opportunity ✨️🌲

As part of her training, Sarah Hills will be running some free Forest Bathing sessions here at Elfwoods.

Dates: Sat 21st March or Friday 24th April

Forest bathing is the practice of immersing yourself in thr forest atmosphere. Its not about hiking or swimming but about being present in nature, engaging all your senses and absorbing the serene environment.

Busy busy 🐝🐝🐝 today at the November Volunteer day. There was plenty of firewood chopping, bench and table making and the rafters on the round shelter are finally up! The fire, the hot drinks and the beautiful sunshine made for a bunch of warm and contented workers! Huge thanks to all the volunteers who came along to help out. We couldn't achieve it without you ✨️🙌.
