The 21 day deadline for comment submission regarding the planning application for Coombes Farm will be extended to 7th April as site notices were displayed from the 17th March.

If you’ve not already done so, please submit your objections via the link below by 7th April. Together we can protect Rochford’s green belt and keep Coombes Farm for the future.

Coombes Farm History 2009/10 REFUSAL - APPEAL - REFUSAL
Last time round, after RDC's initial refusal, the Developer appealed & a Government Inspector led appeal proceedings at the council offices in Rayleigh. The Hearings took place over a few days in Spring 2010 and all interested parties spoke, including Mark Francois MP, local residents and Developers. Ultimately the Inspector ruled in support of RDC (in a decision which was later upheld by the Secretary of State) INAPPROPRIATE DEVELOPMENT OF GREEN BELT being one of the primary reasons. The agricultural land quality at Coombes Farm is, according to Natural England, the highest quality possible (G1 coloured mauve) - and in fact there isn't that much G1 land available across the UK.
