Medway Parent and Carers Forum MPCF are a charity that acts as a voice for families of young people with additional needs and disabilities. What next?

We help improve current services, shape future service and direct parents/carers to services that they may find of use for their family. The Medway Parents and Carers Forum is a group formed to help bring together the parents, families and carers of children and young people with a variety of additional needs to have a voice within Medway. The forum is run by parents for parents, with support from Medway Council and other organisations. Our Aims
•To have a collective voice around common issues.
•To work in partnership with those who provide services and support.
•To raise awareness of what support /services are needed.
•To raise awareness of issues faced by our children.
•To share experience and knowledge.
•To give feedback.
•To ensure that the future for our children is a good one. To achieve these aims we need your support, our strength and effectiveness relies upon your opinions and viewpoints. All parents carers of disabled children and young people are automatically members. To be involved or if you would like more information contact us. There is no charge for our service and no commitment-except to receive occasional communications from us about what is happening in our local area, with opportunities to express your views on a variety of topics (eg, short breaks, transition, childcare etc) at whatever level you wish. What the Forum can’t do

is tackle individual issues, it can only deal with issues that affect a number of people.

💜 We've just posted a new blog on Post-16 options... Are you thinking about your young person’s next steps after school or college?

Our new blog brings together information for parent carers exploring post-16 options for young people with SEND and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Find out about supported internships in Medway, local providers and where to find further information to help you explore your young person’s next steps.

There’s no single ‘right’ route, every young person’s needs, strengths and aspirations matter. 🌟

💜 Your feedback helps shape SEND services across Medway!

Following last year's SEN Survey, we're highlighting some of the actions taken by local services in response to what families told us.

📢 Today, we're focusing on **annual reviews** and the changes introduced by Medway Council.

💬 Have you noticed any changes? We'd love to hear your experiences!

Please contact parent Lisa Herron or police if seen.
