We are very proud of you Isla! Amazing work

Isla has just completed TRP of 2025/26 (The Rugby Project)

The Rugby Project helps young people build life skills and get involved in the game through practical training in refereeing, first aid, and coaching. The course empowers participants to gain confidence, support their clubs, and give back to their communities through volunteering and fundraising.

Isla Coaches the minis and girls rugby at Folkestone and the course has given her training and skills to help put more into the club. Isla has now completed an RFU-approved and accredited Level 3 Emergency First Aid course with TRP.

Isla also won the most volunteer hours for the season which shows the time she puts into the young players at Folkestone.

Thanks to Leigh Fitchie who has been a great support to Isla and with the club enabling her to enrolled on the course and helped with fundraising through the club events.

The Rugby Project works with the Wooden Spoon charity and has been donating to them since the project started in 2021. Wooden Spoon is a dynamic and impactful charity dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people through the power of the rugby community.

If you’re aged 14–16 and based in Kent, this is your chance to:
✅ Develop new skills in coaching, refereeing & first aid
✅ Volunteer at your club or school
✅ Help raise vital funds for charity
✅ Earn exclusive TRP stash, UCAS points and a nationally recognised first aid qualification
🔥 We have 40 places for the 2026/27 season - first come, first served — so don’t wait too long!
So far participants have raised £27,000 for charity and logged 3,500 hours of volunteering — and we can’t wait to see what YOU can do this year!

🏉 A cracking start to the season! 🏉

Last night we kicked things off with our Introduction Evening at Medway RFC, welcoming this year’s group of young players who’ll be stepping up as referees, coaches, first aiders and volunteers.

It was brilliant to see so much energy in the room — even a group of parents got stuck into the games! That’s what rugby’s all about: everyone joining in and supporting each other.

Big thanks to Medway RFC for hosting us and to our team for making it all run smoothly. Plenty of hard work ahead — bring it on! 💪
