✨ Today we launch our new brand! ✨

POPS has always stood for families – and our refreshed identity and new website are here to reflect that more clearly than ever.

Over the coming weeks, you’ll start to see our new look across our website, leaflets, social media and in our visitor centres. Please know that while our appearance is changing, the heart of what we do remains the same. We are still here to support you and your family, just as we always have.

Our rebrand is about making it easier for families to feel connected, informed, and supported. It honours our history while showing the breadth of what we do today—supporting families both inside and outside the justice system, creating spaces where lived experience is heard, and making sure families feel valued and empowered.

*** Family Forum and Prison Tour ***

Our next Family Forum will take place on Wednesday 18th June at 12pm. There will also be an opportunity to tour areas of the prison as part of the forum.

Families that take part in the forum will be entitled to a free social visit on the day of the forum (this will be an additional visit to your monthly allowance).

*** Calling all those with an artistic streak! ***

We are teaming up with Rochdale Community Workshops to involve family members and prisoners in the design of a mural that will be displayed in HMP Buckley Hall and in central Rochdale. We are holding an information session on this in the visitor centre on the 28th and 28th April at 1pm for anyone that is interested. We look forward to seeing you there!

*** Family Forum ***

Our next Family Forum will take place on Thursday 17th April at 11am in the lodge. There will be an opportunity to meet some the governors.

Children are very welcome as we would like to gather children's views on visits.

There will be some refreshments and a visit guaranteed in the afternoon if you attend the forum (if you book on but then do not attend the forum the visit will be cancelled).

*** Legal Aid Clinic ***

Children Heard and Seen have recently received funding from the FireBird Foundation to develop a Legal Advice Clinic. The clinic is for parent/carers looking after children with a parent in prison. The aim of the clinic is to encourage stability and promote justice for families impacted by parental imprisonment. The focus is on the family members outside, and not the person in prison.

This service is open and free to anyone caring for children with a parent in prison, from any organisation. Please get in touch with Children Heard and Seen if you would like to access the clinic.

*** Festive Family Forum ***

We will be hosting a 'festive family forum' on Thursday 19th December at 11am for one hour. Children are really welcome to attend this forum as we would really like to hear from them. Coffee and mince pies will be available!
