We’re often asked, “Is Your Trust part of the Council?”
It’s a really common question - and a fair one.
Whilst we’re not the Council, we’re incredibly proud to work in close partnership with Rochdale Borough Council, who originally helped establish Your Trust so that local leisure, culture and community wellbeing services could be delivered by an independent charity.
The Council still provides vital support - and they own the buildings we’re so proud to welcome our community into, including our brilliant leisure centres and Touchstones Museum and Gallery.
Today, as a registered independent charity, we operate separately.
This means we can bring in donations, grants and national funding to run community programmes that go far beyond what statutory budgets alone can offer.
Our strong partnership with the Council helps us make the most of these opportunities, ensuring that the people of Rochdale can enjoy brilliant sports facilities and inspiring cultural spaces.
So, a huge thank you to Rochdale Borough Council for their partnership - and an equally big thank you to our community, funders and supporters for helping us make an even bigger impact as an independent charity working for Rochdale.
