Another super amazing day at our De Butterfly Peer Wellbeing Support Session! 💜

We were delighted to have Ruth from Blossom Foundation, who joined us to share insights and encouragement around positive parenting and raising children in today’s challenging world as part of Mama Health and Poverty Partnership Blossom F Hub work.

We also had a powerful peer-led discussion about debt, poverty and the cultural expectations many migrant women carry. Together, we explored the pressure to send money home to support family members, even when we ourselves are struggling financially. The conversation was honest, emotional and deeply relatable, highlighting how cultural responsibilities can sometimes impact our own wellbeing, financial stability and ability to thrive.

Alongside these important discussions, there was plenty of laughter, music, dancing, connection and friendship. Some of us enjoyed a lovely walk and a trip to African Grills for lunch, while the sunshine blessed us throughout the day. ☀️🍽️

These sessions remind us that wellbeing is not just about talking…it is about sharing experiences, learning from one another, supporting one another and finding strength in community.

At De Butterfly, we continue to create safe spaces where women can speak openly, heal together, build resilience and know they are not alone.

What a beautiful day of learning, reflection, sisterhood and joy. 🦋

💃🏾🦋 This is how we roll at De Butterfly !

Healing doesn’t always happen through words. Sometimes it happens through music, movement, laughter and dancing like nobody’s watching. 🎶

Today we danced, we laughed, we connected and we celebrated life together. Because wellbeing is not just about surviving—it’s about living, belonging and finding joy again. 💜

This is community.
This is connection.
This is the De Butterfly way. 🦋

🦋Guess Who Came to Visit Us Today?🦋

5/6/26
We were delighted to welcome John and Olufemi from Sector 3 Stockport to De Butterfly today.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share more about our work, our vision and the impact we are making alongside Black African women, migrant communities and families across Stockport and Greater Manchester.

We had meaningful conversations about community needs, partnership working, collaboration and how Sector 3 can help connect us to wider networks, opportunities and support across the borough. Building strong relationships is so important, and we are grateful for organisations that take the time to listen, learn and understand the communities we serve.

At De Butterfly, we believe that lasting change happens when communities, voluntary organisations and local systems work together. Today’s visit was a reminder of the power of partnership and the importance of creating stronger pathways of support for those who need it most.

A huge thank you to John and Olufemi for taking the time to visit us, learn about our work and explore ways we can work together to strengthen support for our community. We look forward to building on these conversations and developing new opportunities for collaboration.

Together, we can create healthier, stronger and more connected communities. 💜🦋

🦋A Special Milestone at De Butterfly 🦋

Today 5/6/26, we were delighted to officially launch our De Butterfly Hygiene Pantry & Bank — a new initiative designed to support women experiencing financial hardship, poverty and other challenges by providing essential hygiene and personal care items.

As part of today’s launch, we distributed hygiene products and reusable water bottles to encourage hydration and wellbeing. For many women, access to basic essentials such as sanitary products, body wash, shampoo, deodorant and toothpaste can be a real struggle. No woman should have to choose between food, heating and personal hygiene.

At De Butterfly, we know that dignity matters. Wellbeing starts with meeting basic needs, and sometimes a small act of support can make a huge difference to someone’s confidence, health and quality of life.

A huge thank you to our CEO for generously donating the first items to help us get started. Your kindness and commitment to our women and community are deeply appreciated. 💛

We are now inviting individuals, community groups, schools, faith organisations and businesses to support our Hygiene Pantry & Bank by donating:

🧴 Body wash and shower gel
🧼 Soap
🪥 Toothpaste and toothbrushes
🧴 Shampoo and conditioner
🌸 Sanitary towels and tampons
🧻 Toilet rolls
🧴 Deodorant
🧴 Moisturisers and skincare products
💧 Reusable water bottles
👶 Baby wipes and baby hygiene products

Together, we can help ensure that every woman has access to the essentials needed to live with dignity, confidence and wellbeing.

If you would like to donate, partner with us or find out more, please get in touch.

Because dignity should never be a luxury. 💜🦋

💜 Because dignity matters, and no woman should struggle alone. 🦋

Another fantastic wellbeing session at De Butterfly today—full of life, energy, laughter and connection! 💜

We were delighted to welcome Mama Tendayi from ZIWO, who facilitated a wonderful Language and Culture Workshop. The session reminded us of the importance of preserving our languages, celebrating our cultural heritage, and passing on our stories, traditions and identity to future generations.

For many of us, language is more than words—it is connection, belonging, memory, history and home. Today’s conversations sparked reflection, pride and a renewed appreciation of who we are and where we come from.

Alongside the workshop, we enjoyed creativity activities, shared food, meaningful conversations and plenty of laughter. As always, the room was filled with warmth, friendship and the sense of community that makes De Butterfly such a special place.

These are the moments that strengthen wellbeing, build confidence and remind us that healing and growth happen best when we come together.

Thank you, Mama Tendayi and ZIWO, for sharing your wisdom and passion with us today. We loved every minute of it!

Celebrating culture. Nurturing wellbeing. Building community. Transforming lives. 🌿🦋

🦋Another Beautiful Day at SAWN🦋

As part of our Mama Health & Poverty Partnership (MHaPP) Hub work, we were delighted to deliver another creativity and wellbeing session with the amazing women at SAWN.

What a joyful afternoon it was! Filled with creativity, laughter, meaningful conversations, connection and plenty of smiles. The room was alive with positive energy as women came together to create, share, learn and simply enjoy being in community with one another.

These sessions are about so much more than activities. They are about building relationships, reducing isolation, nurturing confidence and creating safe spaces where women feel seen, valued and supported. Every conversation matters. Every connection matters. Every moment of joy matters.

In a world that can often feel overwhelming, taking time to pause, create, laugh and connect with others is a powerful act of self-care and community healing.

Thank you to all the wonderful women who joined us and made the session so special. Your strength, warmth and resilience continue to inspire us.

Together we are creating spaces of hope, connection, belonging and transformation. 💛🌿

26/5/26 🦋

Today we took our creativity and wellbeing session on the road to SAWN as part of our Mama Health & Poverty Partnership (MHaPP) Hub work—and what a wonderful day it was💜

The room was filled with creativity, laughter, conversation, connection and joy. Women came together to create, share experiences, support one another and enjoy a few hours away from the pressures of everyday life.

Sometimes wellbeing looks like having fun.
Sometimes healing looks like laughter.
Sometimes connection begins with a simple creative activity and a conversation around the table.

These moments matter. They help reduce isolation, build confidence, strengthen relationships and remind us that we are stronger together.

We are grateful for the opportunity to take this work into communities and create spaces where women can feel safe, valued, heard and connected.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought their energy, creativity and beautiful smiles. We had an amazing time and are already looking forward to the next one!

This is what community, wellbeing and belonging look like. 🌿🦋

29/5/26 🦋

Another wonderful wellbeing session at De Butterfly today.

A simple afternoon filled with connection, creativity, shared food, laughter and belonging. Sometimes the most powerful moments are found in ordinary conversations, a listening ear, a shared meal, a smile, or the courage to show up and be present.

Today women came together to connect, create, encourage one another and simply enjoy being in a safe and welcoming space. There was laughter around the table, creativity in our hands, warmth in our conversations and hope in the room.

These sessions remind us that wellbeing is not just about services—it is about community. It is about feeling seen, valued and supported. It is about knowing that you do not have to walk life’s journey alone.

At De Butterfly, we continue to create spaces where women can heal, grow, belong and become. One conversation, one connection and one act of kindness at a time.

Grateful for every woman who walks through our doors and every moment of hope that is shared. 💛🌿
