Al Imaan Fundraisers Al Imaan Fundraisers The restrictions on trade and movement have been detrimental to the economic climate in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Since the creation of the state of Israel in 1948, the people of Palestine have continued to endure extreme hardships, political insecurity and economic instability. Over 46% of Palestinians in the West Bank live below the official poverty line, while in Gaza the figure is as high as 80%. Those who grow up in refugee camps in Jordan and Lebanon are essentially stateless; in the latter they are prohibited from attending state schools and from working in over 70 professions. They face a huge struggle just to survive; children must drink contaminated water and families cannot afford to cover the cost of their most basic needs. As the refugee crisis continues, we believe that children and young people have the right to grow up in a world full of opportunity and hope, rather than destruction and poverty.
