🙏🏻Thank you to Sacred Heart Church for dropping by this week with a donation weighing a generous donation weighing 82 kgs.

🤩 Another big thank you to the 19 year old who came and donated 15 kgs of many of our much needed items.

We love meeting our supporters face to face and being able to thank them personally🥰

🥫Thank you to TT Electronics for dropping off their latest monthly donation at our warehouse.

Agutter from the company is leaving so this was her final drop off; she will be missed by Irene, Hughie and all the guys in the warehouse.

The company will be continuing to support us.

Thank you Agutter for everything, you have been a ray of sunshine and good luck in the new job!😊

✨This Volunteers’ Week we are focusing on the great work our volunteers do.

When our clients first come to foodbank with their voucher they are greeted and offered a hot drink. We note dietary requirements and find out more about them so we can offer support 🤲🏻

Whilst waiting for the voucher to be checked and verified on our computer the client is offered in house advice from our money mentor volunteer and also from
Citizens Advice.

As you can see, we don't just hand out food. We take the time to understand what's really going on and work with people to address the reasons they need our support in the first place 💚

Once this support system has been introduced many our clients switch to our Food Pantry, where for a small fee they can browse and purchase food at a reduced price. The pantry is again ran by volunteers, and opens Thursday and Saturday mornings.

🙌We had a great night celebrating our volunteers last night at The Flying Horse Hotel

There was a quiz followed by a pie supper and it was great to get everyone from Foodbank together for a fun evening😃

✨This week we are celebrating and recognising the effort, time and support our volunteers have given to make a difference to the day to day running of Foodbank.

Behind the scenes each day it is a hive of activity as food parcels are packed and given out to hand out to our clients.

Meet Margaret and Ann who collectively have been volunteering for over 20 years!😍 On an average Tuesday they will pack over 288 Kgs which is an average of 12 single /couple and 6 family food parcels.

AND THEY ARE STILL SMILING 😅😂

💚 lt's Volunteers’ Week!..
Did you know we have 94 volunteers at Foodbank who give up their time each week to support our work?

💡Today we're shining a light on our lovely warehouse volunteers who work so hard behind the scenes dealing with jobs including deliveries, donations, stock control and rotation to name a few.

Led by Irene, Warehouse Manager they are a close knit and hardworking feisty bunch. Laughter can often be heard ringing out from behind the scenes as they work 😂

They love their coffee breaks and a quiz too and why not!
