Keep Roath Tidy ✨ Join us Saturdays for our pick at 10:30am-11:30am and Wednesdays 6:30pm-7:30pm✨Meet us at the Mackintosh Sports Centre ✨ Tidy!

Roath is great... but it's full of rubbish. We could blame the usual suspects: students, seagulls and kebab shops...but I don't think they're going away any time soon. Residents, the local authority and businesses need to work on solutions together.

♻️ From our streets to recycling ♻️

This week, we took another load of discarded canisters to the scrap yard, removing an incredible 197kg of steel from our local environment.

Not only does this help keep our streets, parks and green spaces cleaner, but the money raised through recycling also helps support our group’s work, from equipment and insurance to community projects.

A huge thank you to everyone who helps collect these canisters and to our volunteers Pat and Deb who put in the extra effort to process and recycle them💚

A huge thank you to Revel Puck Circus for generously gifting tickets to some of our volunteers! 🎪💚

The show was absolutely fantastic – packed with incredible talent, amazing performances, plenty of laughs, and moments that left us in awe. Everyone who attended had a brilliant time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We’re incredibly grateful to Persimmon Homes for awarding Keep Roath Tidy a £1,000 community grant 💚

This funding will help support our volunteer-led work across the community, helping us continue making Roath a cleaner and greener place for everyone.

A special thank you also goes to Dan De'Ath for putting our group forward for the grant support. We really appreciate your continued support for community initiatives like ours.

Did you know disposable vapes can be repurposed to help support people affected by the war in Ukraine? 🇺🇦

Our volunteers are now collecting used disposable vapes, helping recover valuable lithium batteries that can be reused to power essential equipment.

The volunteer pictured is helping with the local collection effort, before the vapes are passed on to another volunteer supporting the efforts in Ukraine.

Instead of ending up as litter or in landfill, these vapes can be put to meaningful use.

You can bring your used disposable vapes along to any of our litter picks and hand them directly to the team for collection ♻️

Please make sure:
🔋 They are disposable vapes only
🔋 They are switched off where possible
🔋 They are handed to a volunteer rather than left on the ground

Thank you to everyone supporting this initiative and helping turn waste into something positive 💚

What a busy weekend for our amazing volunteers! 💚

Over the weekend, the team:

📌 Put up posters encouraging people not to feed the pigeons
🏫 Installed a large banner on the side of the local school
🌱 De-w**ded our community planter
🗑️ Collected an incredible 9 bags of litter from the streets of Roath

Every bag collected, every w**d removed, and every poster displayed helps make our community cleaner, greener, and more welcoming for everyone.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers for giving up their time to make a real difference.
