Our Beavers had such a fantastic time at the District Beaver Birthday Camp! πŸŽ‰
Thank you so much to the District Beaver Team and all the leaders who organised such a fun-filled weekend. Our Beavers loved every minute – especially the activities (and the cake! 🍰).
We’re already looking forward to the next one!

Our Squirrel Drey recently returned from an amazing seaside adventure in West Runton, Norfolk! 🌊🐿️

They spent the weekend exploring rock pools, building sandcastles, learning about water safety, visiting an animal sanctuary, enjoying a meal out at a resturant and even trying the arcades for the very first time. πŸ¦€πŸ©πŸͺ£πŸ–οΈπŸ¦πŸŸ 🌞

There was plenty of laughter, excitement, and definitely a few soggy Squirrels along the way! 🐿️

The weekend showed just how capable, brave, and independent our 4–6 year olds can be when given the chance to try new experiences and challenge themselves. We were incredibly proud of their behaviour, kindness, and enthusiasm throughout the trip.πŸ™‚

Thank you to the community of West Runton and Sheringham for making us feel welcome and giving great comments on how well behaved our Squirrels were. πŸ–οΈ

To make the weekend even more memorable… the Squirrels also adopted a pig called Barbara! 🐷

A huge well done to all our Squirrels for such a fantastic adventure! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

Celebrating 100 years of Sir David Attenborough β€” broadcaster, natural historian, writer, and lifelong champion of nature, exploration, and curiosity. 🌍⚜️

Many people don’t realise that Sir David was a Cub Scout, Scout, and later a Senior Scout in his youth. Those early adventures in Scouting helped nurture the curiosity, resilience, and love of the natural world that would inspire generations throughout his remarkable life and career.

Reflecting on his time in Scouting, Sir David once said:

β€œI remember my time as a Wolf Cub very well indeed. We learned a lot of useful things and had a great deal of fun. I hope you all do too.”

Through Scouting, young people continue to experience adventure, friendship, learning, and discovery firsthand β€” building confidence and a lifelong respect for the world around them.

Thank you, Sir David, for a century of inspiration and for encouraging generations to explore, discover, and protect our planet. Happy 100th Birthday! 🌱

On Friday night 5 Leader's from across Northamptonshire County were awarded the highest awards, Silver Wolf, Bar to the Silver Acorn and Silver Acorn. πŸ…

This included our very own Badger who was awarded the Silver Acorn for dedication and service to Scouting. Over the years she has been a vital part of the scouting family in Roade since 1996 where she came onboard to allow more young people to join the movement. πŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸ¦‘

We are incredibly proud of her ❀️

Congratulations to everyone for all your hard work and dedication to Scouting and your local community.

Photos will be published on the country website by Friday and we will publish official photos and speech here soon πŸ™‚
