Why we are fundraising for Esmae ⭐️
Esmae has complex needs, and like many children with neurological conditions, her journey is not straightforward. Every day, we are doing everything we can to support her development, comfort, and quality of life.
One of the therapies we are hoping to bring into our home is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).
HBOT is a treatment where a child breathes oxygen in a pressurised chamber. This allows higher levels of oxygen to reach areas of the brain and body that may not be getting enough due to injury or damage.
For children with conditions such as cerebral palsy and brain injuries, this therapy is believed to:
- Support brain healing and function
- Reduce inflammation
- Improve oxygen supply to damaged areas
- Encourage the growth of new blood vessels
While HBOT is not a cure, many families report meaningful improvements in their children, including better sleep, increased awareness, reduced discomfort, and small but incredibly important developmental progress.
Unfortunately, this therapy is not widely available through the NHS, and accessing it privately is expensive. A home oxygen chamber would allow Esmae to have consistent, ongoing therapy in a safe and familiar environment.
Why we are fundraising now ✨
We are currently in the process of setting up Esmae’s charity, but we didn’t want to delay starting this journey for her. Time matters when it comes to early and consistent intervention.
That’s why we have created this page — to begin raising funds towards:
- A home oxygen chamber
- Ongoing therapies to support Esmae’s needs
- Equipment that improves her daily life
