Thorp Perrow, home to one of the UK’s finest collections of trees makes for a perfect day out this Christmas season.

Whether you want to stroll around the beautiful arboretum, watch your children let off steam in the adventure playground or enjoy one of the wonderful Bird of a Prey displays, there is something for everyone at Thorp Perrow.

This Christmas we also have a bookable Santa’s Grotto on select dates throughout December. Wander through magical mini landscapes, peek into Santa’s workshop and the elves’ bedroom before meeting Santa himself for a chat and a special photo.

✨We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our guest speaker for this years Macmillan Carol Concert is 🎾🏆

Johanna Konta is a former professional British tennis player who climbed to a career high of World #4 and British #1 reaching 3 Grand Slam semi-finals (Australian Open ‘16, Wimbledon ‘17, French Open ‘19), and 3 Grand Slam quarter-finals (Australian Open ‘17,
Wimbledon ‘19, US Open ‘19). Johanna holds 4 WTA titles, most notably including the 2017 Miami Open. She was a key member of the British Billie-Jean King Cup (formerly Fed Cup) Team and represented Team GB at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games where she reached the final 8. To-date, Johanna is the 3rd highest World ranked female British tennis player ever (after
Sue Barker #3, and Virginia Wade #2) and is the longest serving female British #1 since records began.

Johanna now lives in North Yorkshire on a small farm, with her young family (and a few too many chickens) and works as a presenter and broadcaster for the likes of Sky Sports, BBC, Eurosport and Amazon, covering events such as The Championships Wimbledon,
Roland Garros, the US Open and the Australian Open.

For nearly 30 years, the Aysgarth Choirs have had the privilege of performing at the Macmillan Ripon Carol Concert.

The festive season for our community truly begins with the Macmillan Ripon Carol Service, and we’re so happy to be involved. Our choir and readers gain so much from this experience, developing confidence, performance skills, and a love of giving back.
