DUCK RACE CANCELLED

Hi everybody. In case anyone is wondering The National Duck Race Association inspected the course last month and rules the water was too low to maintain the safety of the ducks.

Despite recent rain they are unwilling to change the decision. Several of the ducks have diverted to other races but promise to be back next year.

There will be no Highside Playing Field Association Duck Race this year.

Hi. This is long shot but does anyone have a marquee we can borrow from tonight until Sunday to act as the bar for the ball? At least 4m by 12m.
The one we were intending to use was damaged last weekend.
We have our old faithful to fall back on but it would be nice to have bigger / newer one.

Highside Playing Field Association needs you.

Don't forget to buy your tickets for the Summer Ball. We need your money, but more importantly you know you need a great night out. Where else can you get a 3 course meal, live band, dancing till late and a full evening of laughter with friends, and no Uber required?
When everyone is talking about it the day after, don’t be the one who missed out! Please join us and support this important local charity.

We are all very fortunate to have a facility like the Highside Playing Fields in Kirkby Malzeard. Not every community has such amazing recreational facilities. As you are hopefully aware, the playing field was generously donated to the community and is not maintained by the council or any taxes. So, the task of fund raising, looking after and improving it is down to a very small committee of volunteers.
