Bunting for the 2026 celebrations in Ringwood

Our lovely Make, Do and Mend, Ringwood Team have been making reusable bunting to decorate the town for the celebrations for the 800th Anniversary of the Market Charter. Look out for it on Sunday July 12th and at other events.

150metres carefully crafted in Purple and Gold.

Huge thankyou to everyone, who cut out, sewed triangles and attached them to the tape.

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SUPPORT

So it is the morning after the ECO Fair. As we reflect on what a wonderful day we had, there are some people we need to thank.

Firstly, Sarah Newland for all the organising behind the scenes managing the stalls and layout

Then to Lara and Charlie at the The Furlong for helping with publicity, set up and all their support on the day.

To Ian Roberts for managing all the acts and music at the Furlong

To Abacus Vehicle Hire who not only sponsor all our tree planting but also loan us a van for events like this so that we can transport trees, plants, gazebos dragonflies and so much more.

To A-One Insurance Group who support all our insurance needs and without whom we just couldn’t operate.

To Ringwood Carnival who every year help us to set up and loan us the picket fencing.

To Ringwood Town Council for allowing us to use Gateway Square.

To all our stallholders who come along and have wonderful conversations with people.

To all the people of Ringwood who came along to support the event.

And a HUGE THANKYOU to everyone who volunteered before and during the event to create and man our fundraising and awareness stalls, Make, Do and Mend, Ringwood, Ringwood Community Fridge, Race to Green, Trees for the Future and our extra pairs of hands. You are all just wonderful and too numerous to mention. And between you, you raised over £1600 for our projects in Ringwood.

And to my long suffering husband for driving the van around.

As part of encouraging people to eat seasonal produce and to understand where their food comes from we were delighted to get a grant from Hubbub to run some cookery sessions for young people in conjunction with the wonderful Kate Forrester and Mollie Taylor at Four Acre Farm.

One of the groups that will be completing 4 sessions at the Farm came from Moyles Court School and this is what they had to say.

🌟 Exciting Cooking Adventures with Four Acre Farm and Ringwood RACE! 🌟

We are incredibly grateful to have been invited to join a series of outdoor learning sessions focusing on foraging and growing nutritious food and how to create healthy meals on a budget.

This week we took five students to Four Acre Farm on Long Lane in Ringwood. We were led by Kate Forrester and Mollie Taylor, who hosted a delightful series of cookery demonstrations aimed at inspiring young minds to make healthier eating choices. Our grateful thanks the dedicated team at RACE, along with the fantastic team who run the sessions at Four Acre Farm.

The children had a fantastic afternoon exploring the wonders of fresh herbs and discovering how to turn ordinary veg into delicious meals. It was a joy to watch them chop and cook with enthusiasm, eager to learn about the magic of nutritious food on a budget. The experience sparked an interest in understanding seasonal produce and how a few simple ingredients can change a dish entirely.

We are thrilled that the young chefs can’t wait to return for another day of learning and fun next month. We hope their enthusiasm inspires more families to join us in this journey towards healthier eating habits. Thank you to everyone involved in making this event a success and for supporting our mission to educate the next generation on the importance of nutrition. 🥦🍅
