We’re hiring an Activity Support Worker at The Bradbury Centre in Southbourne 🎨

If you love being creative and you’ve supported adults with learning disabilities before, you’d fit right in. You’ll plan and run activities around each person’s own goals, whether that’s learning a new skill, getting more involved in the community or working towards living more independently. Then you get to see the progress they make.

💷 £13 an hour (£27,040 a year)
🕘 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with no nights or split shifts
📄 Permanent contract
🌴 33 days annual leave, plus pension, wellbeing support and a Blue Light Card

A teaching or social care qualification would be a bonus, but your experience and your ideas matter most.

What a day at Olympia 💪

On Saturday, our chair of trustees Sue Perry and 31 of her fellow members from 365 Fitness took on the Battle Cancer Challenge. More than 500 teams competed on the day.

They split their fundraising across three charities, us and two cancer charities, and raised nearly £7,000 between them including Gift Aid. Our share has reached £1,595, more than three times the original £500 target.

Thank you to every one of Sue's team, friends, and family that donated. It’ll go straight into our work at The Stable Family Home Trust, supporting adults with learning disabilities across Hampshire and Dorset.

Every pot on those shelves was made by someone we support.

Since 1980, The Stable Family Home Trust has helped adults with learning disabilities across Hampshire and Dorset build the skills and confidence to live as independently as they can. Our day services run pottery, art, cooking, gardening, music and plenty more, and each person’s week is shaped around what they want to learn and enjoy.

Some people come to us wanting to cook their own meals. Others want to make friends, find work or try something they’ve never done before. We help them get there at their own pace.

We’re hiring an Assistant Manager for our day service at The Stables in Bisterne, near Ringwood 💜

You’ll work alongside our Day Services Manager to plan a varied programme of activities, lead and develop a dedicated staff team, and help the adults with learning disabilities we support work towards their own goals.

If you’re a Team Leader, Senior Support Worker or Deputy Manager in learning disability services and you’re ready for your next step, this could be the role for you.

💷 £32,240 per year
🕘 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday
📄 Permanent contract
🌴 33 days annual leave, plus pension, free parking, wellbeing support and a Blue Light Card

You’ll get ongoing training to help you grow as a leader, and you’ll join a team guided by five values: Choice, Collaboration, Respect, Safety and Trust.
