Hello everyone,
For the past five years, I’ve been very happy working quietly in the background - looking after the admin, lending a hand at events, and watching this wonderful charity grow. I’ve always felt that this work is about Lucy, and the children and young people she wanted so much to support - not about me. So when I was asked to step forward as Chair of Trustees, I felt both deeply honoured and a little reluctant to leave that comfortable place behind the scenes.
But I also know how much Lucy would believe in carrying this work forward, and so I am stepping up.
First, I want to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to our outgoing trustees. You have given so much of your time, your energy, and your heart. You have guided us, built us up, and brought us to where we stand today - stronger, and ready to reach further. We would not be here without you, and I am so grateful.
As I take on this role, my promise is simple: we will keep Lucy’s vision at the very centre of everything we do. My hope is that together, we will grow, expand our reach, and be there for every child and young person who needs us - just as Lucy would have wanted.
Thank you for welcoming me, and for being part of Lucy’s legacy. Here’s to what we will build together.
