Fifteen of us boarded the bus to Brighton on Tuesday for our visit to Brighton Pavilion. Although we were a touch damp by the time we arrived, the drizzle did little to spoil our enjoyment. After a brief introduction to the palace, our guide for the morning, Anne, took us round the ground floor of the building. She explained the history of the building from its development from simple farmhouse into an extravagant palace fit for a king. Despite periods of decline, skilled renovation work has restored the building to its original splendour that we see today. Our visit was completed with lunch at Cote.
