Hello Residents,
We have recently changed our name to Sarratt Residents Association to better reflect and represent the area that we cover. As there is already a page for Sarratt Residents' Association we are unable to change the name but if you could go to Sarratt Residents' Association page and follow there instead as we will remove this page in the coming weeks. Thanks!

Sarratt Residents' Association
2024 Annual General Meeting: Wednesday 16th October, 7pm
Come to our AGM on Wednesday 16th October 2024 - 7pm for a 7.15pm start at the Cart & Horses, Commonwood WD4 9BA and join your neighbours to hear about what is happening and the current issues that are affecting our area.

The pub is offering Fish & Chips or Lasagne for only £9.95. Orders need to be placed directly with them by Sunday 13th October, please call 01923 263763.

All residents are welcome! Bring your family or on your own, it’s a great chance to meet friends and neighbours.

Why are we changing our name from Chanders Cross RA?
Chandlers Cross RA has been active for some forty years, covering Chandlers Cross and the surrounding areas. We have decided to change the name to align with the wider parish and reflect the same places covered. It’s also hoped that the name change and fresh emphasis of the villages we represent will increase awareness and help grow our community of residents.

So what are the issues that matter to our residents?
It is a privilege to live in such a beautiful part of the country, and it is important to our residents to maintain this environment. People tell us they have concerns around issues like over-development, the state of our roads, and that they value a sense of belonging to a community. Volunteers are required to organise more social events!

One of the biggest threats currently is the new Local Plan which could see hundreds of additional dwellings built on currently rural, undeveloped land. We are ‘stronger together’ and now, above all, is the time for residents to make their views heard.

Why do we need a Residents Association when we have a parish council?
A residents association provides an informal platform for people to connect, discuss local issues and socialise. Croxley, Chorleywood and Kings Langley all have RAs which are active in opposing large scale and inappropriate developments (such as the M25 services area at Langleybury). RAs have the time to focus on similar issues because they do not have to involve themselves in the day to day business of roads, footpaths, litter, play areas and planning applications to extend individual houses.
A key element of our role is not just to keep residents informed on local issues, but also connecting people and maintaining our sense of community. Our Association will engage and work alongside the Parish Council; and provide support where residents’ voices need to be heard.

How can I join the Residents Association?
Sarratt RA covers Sarratt, Chandlers Cross, Commonwood, Bucks Hill and Fir Tree Hill and we represent everyone- for free- as members. Please support and participate! Register for our e newsletter: email [email protected] to be added to our mailing list.

Whilst membership is free, we would encourage voluntary donations to help support our administration costs. These are kept to a minimum. Details of how to donate or set up a standing order are:
