🔥 The Magadhan (Mauryan) Empire map in Magadhi Prakrit with the ancient Brahmi script.
See the English transliteration and translation alongside this magnificent recreation of one of Bhārata’s greatest empires.
A tribute to the legendary Emperor Candragupta Maurya and his guru, strategist, and Mahāmatya — Ācārya Cāṇakya.
The Maurya Empire was the first great power to unify nearly all of Jambudvīpa under one rule. Guided by the unmatched political wisdom of Cāṇakya, Candragupta overthrew the Nanda-vaṁśa and established the mighty Mauryan state from Magadha, expanding across almost the entire Indian subcontinent.
One of his greatest military achievements came in 305 BCE against Seleukos Nikator, successor of Alexander. After defeating the Seleucid forces, Candragupta brought Gedrosia (Baluchistan), Arachosia (Kandahar), and Āryā (Herat) into the Mauryan fold, securing Bharat’s western frontier.
Under his reign, the empire witnessed:
⚔️ A massive standing army
🛕 Strong centralized governance
🛣️ Royal highways connecting the realm
💰 Flourishing trade and economy
🕵️ A sophisticated intelligence network
The foundations laid by Candragupta and Cāṇakya later enabled Bindusāra and Emperor Aśoka to transform the Mauryan Empire into one of the greatest civilizations of the ancient world.
From Takṣaśilā to Pāṭaliputra, from Saurāṣṭra to Andhra — this was the rise of a united Bhārata. 🚩
