Friends of Rhydymwyn Valley was formed in 2003 when the site was designated as a Nature Reserve by DEFRA. The group was formed as a link between the community and the Nature Reserve and seeks to promote the site and all its diversity. It is a managed site and you are welcome to join our group to enjoy the reserve. As a result of it being a closed site there is rich and diverse range of species eg
: horseshoe bats, great crested newts, otters, polecats, dingy skipper butterfly and bee orchids to name but a few. FORV organise many community workshops and activities including volunteer days, art workshops, Qigong classes, ceramic classes, photography workshops and more. Membership is £5 for the year to cover insurance while visiting the site. To join pick up a membership form from the gatehouse or message this page.
