On Friday we said a big thank you and goodbye to five of our amazing volunteers who are stepping down.

Between them, they have given countless hours of their time, energy, enthusiasm, and support, helping to make our group the welcoming and successful community it is today. Their dedication has made a real difference, and while we're sad to see them move on, we're incredibly grateful for everything they have contributed.

Please join us in wishing them all the very best for the future. 💙

2 of our Explorers kick off their fundraising efforts this weekend taking on the 15K Tough Mudder at Hopetoun Estate. A demanding challenge packed with mud and obstacles and demanding teamwork and determination, we are sure Iona and William will smash it!

Any donation, however small, will be gratefully received. Iona and William have been given an amazing opportunity to travel to Peru in 2027 where they will take part in community projects aimed at making a positive difference to local communities as well as being able to immerse themselves in the local culture.

We have 5 young people taking part in international trips next year and this page will be used for joint activities. There is a 5K run in Balloch on the horizon for some as well as other activities in the pipeline. Watch this space! All monies raised will be split between those taking part.

At this year’s AGM, we’re introducing a Scout uniform recycling scheme to help support families across the group while caring for the environment ♻️

We’ll have our current stock of pre-loved (and freshly laundered! 😊) uniform available to look through, so families can take the items they need. We’d simply ask for a small donation back to the group in return.

If your young person is moving up and no longer needs parts of their uniform, we’d be grateful for any donations. A great way to give uniforms a second life, save money, and help fellow Scout families 💙

Scouting is about so much more than our weekly meetings and activities and provides our young people with some fantastic international opportunities as well.

We are very proud to have 5 of your young people selected for international trips in 2027.

First up are Explorer Orla and Scouts Ben and Isla who are part of Unit 11 heading to the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland next summer.

The World Scout Jamboree is one of the most significant events in the global Scouting movement, bringing together thousands of young people from around the world to celebrate unity, adventure, and cultural exchange. Held approximately every four years, the Jamboree is a gathering unlike any other, offering Scouts the opportunity to experience a world of diversity while participating in activities that foster personal growth, leadership, and global citizenship.

Unit 11 have held their first training camp with the second coming in June.

Explorers Iona and William are taking part in West Region's trip to Peru next summer. They will be travelling as part of a group of 14 to 24 year olds on an unforgettable trip combining impactful community projects with the chance to explore the world-renowned Machu Picchu.

Both groups are expected to fundraise towards the cost of their trips and so watch out for information on what they get up to over the next 15 months.
