7 DAYS TO GO 🏃

The Play Yard Social run club' Own The Night Event.

Join us at 6pm Sunday 25th October. Think bright colours and lights! Everyone is welcome – members and non-members - so spread the word! Open to all abilities!

We’d love to see as many people as possible to support this campaign to raise awareness around womens safety when running in the dark and ensuring everyone feels safe in the community.

This isn’t about pace or distance, it’s about coming together to make a difference 🌟

It’s that time of the week again!

Darker evenings can often be a barrier for people wanting to run because of valid safety concerns, which is why we are providing our runners with wearable LED lights to use through the Winter, along with also employing a ‘buddy system’ where everyone pairs up with one or two others of a similar pace to start and end their runs together.

Don’t let the dark stop you from starting your running journey or continuing to do something you love!

Good luck to our runners representing The Play Yard Social Run Club tomorrow and to everyone else taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon!

Darker nights. Same freedom to run.

We’re proud to be supporting the 2026 Welsh Athletics ‘Own The Night’ campaign, bringing runners, clubs, communities and allies together to raise awareness of women’s safety while running and taking action towards safer spaces for everyone.

We believe darker nights shouldn’t change how women run. 72% of women change their activity behaviour during the Winter months and it doesn’t have to be this way.
