We are so proud to share this thought-provoking TEDx talk, by the brilliant nutritionist and metabolic psychiatry practitioner Ruth Etches | Functional Medicine for Brain & Mental Health exploring the emerging science behind the “Brain Energy Gap” the idea that anxiety, depression, OCD and other mental health disorders may share a common metabolic thread. Through powerful storytelling, emerging research and the experience of one young woman trapped by severe anxiety and compulsions, she challenges the way we think about mental illness and asks whether the brain’s fuel supply may matter more than we realise.

We are so proud to share our TEDx speaker with you the wonderful Caroline Gayle-Dunne who draws on personal experience, clinical insight, and research into the physical consequences of emotional suppression to make a case that is both urgent and quietly radical: that women’s anger, conditioned away from girlhood, pathologised by medicine, policed especially harshly when it belongs to a woman of colour, is not a disorder to be treated. It is a superpower to be claimed.

We are so proud to share our TEDx speaker with you the amazing red who is an artist who began making work not as a career, but as an act of survival. Confined to bed with the physical effects of PTSD following an abusive relationship, she turned to painting, and over eight years created a collection of over thirty works that began as private grief and grew into something far larger than herself.

Informed by neuroscience, which shows that visual images can allow empathy to arise before judgement takes hold, Red makes the case for art as a form of advocacy; a language capable of reaching the legal and political systems that so often fail to see the full reality of survivors' lives.

We are so proud to share our TEDx speaker Rebecca Hunt, her talk do human beings belong on this planet? Becs spent the early years of her conservation career convinced the answer was no — and the planet would be better off without us. Today she thinks the opposite, and this talk traces the shift. Drawing on her work across Britain's National Landscapes and on what's known about our earliest recorded ancestors, the Pretani, she argues that the climate movement has handed people responsibility without belonging — fear without agency, information without relationship. A grounded, surprisingly hopeful case for rebuilding our connection to nature through three small acts of attention.
